One of the greatest RPGs to ever grace a home system.

Grandia II is amazing. The battle system is fun and all the characters are extremely likeable. The story itself will pull you in, and the game makes itself very presentable.

Starting off, you only have Ryudo, who is a mercenary who isn't appreciated by anyone. He is given an assignment to take Elena, who is a Songstress of Granas, and take her to a tower to make sure the world can be rid of evil. On the way, however, they accidently awaken the pieces of Valmar, who was the Devil of Darkness, and have to go on a quest to destroy any of those pieces that they encounter. It sounds generic, but when you get further in to the game it has some of the best plot twists in any RPG ever.

If you like JRPG's or just need something new to play, give Grandia II a try. It's fun, sometimes dark, and a great game to play overall.

I had gotten Grandia II for the ps2 back when it came out. It was a great game then, but my copy is pretty beat so I decided to buy one for my dreamcast. Although I haven't finished it yet, I still haven't seen any differences in the actual gameplay, but I did receive a soundtrack disc. This is a good game to buy, but might be better to purchase on the ps2 because you will find more copies at a cheaper price, if you don't want the soundtrack disc. Either console it is a good game to pick up and has an interesting storyline.

Grandia has a very good story line. I never getting bored to play it. I'm a RPG fan. What I want to say in specific is, if we focus only in the battle mode system, Grandia is the best battle mode system I ever play. It's the real RPG battle system I ever want. The features which you can't find in other RPG games are: invade, double-attack, and critical attack to cancel enemy's attack. All of these increase the excitement of RPG battle for you as you would never seen before!

I bought this game because it struck a memory.Have I played this interesting title before?I received it,played it and said to myself,"yes,I have."For me the characters were and still the center peice for me.Ryudo being tough with the little kid,Roan, but then letting up and it all melding together quite well.I get sad when I had to wait for some of the players to come back into the story as this is done to rotate some characters.
