Grand Theft Auto is a fun adrenaline rush. enjoy

For those who appreciate the sophomoric, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is the ultimate indulgence. This particular storyline follows Carl Johnson, "CJ", who takes it upon himself to regain his "street cred" in his old Grove Street neighborhood, all the while cleansing his home city of gang violence and building his business empire across the cities of San Andreas. Despite the challenging missions, what makes the game so much fun is that it is truly a cartoon for adults. Character voices include the likes of Samuel L. Jackson, Charlie Murphy, and Peter Fonda, among many others. The developers' attention to detail and variety of side-missions will have any gamer discovering new features and laughing at new jokes many months after starting a game. In other words, San Andreas has a very long shelf life before it gets old.

Like its most recent predecessor, GTA: Vice City, San Andreas could be considered a "period piece"--this time for late 80's/early 90's West Coast living. Get into any vehicle, and as you surf the radio stations you may hear Ice Cube, Stone Temple Pilots, or Eddie Money--with George Clinton or Axl Rose as the radio DJ. Whereas previous GTA games focused on one city, San Andreas is a state with 3 major cities--caricatures of Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Las Vegas--with countryside in between, thus making the landscape of this RPG absolutely enormous. The developers' sophomoric sense of humor spares no detail in their creations. Virtual doppelgangers of places like Luxor Las Vegas and Camelot are renamed into much raunchier (and funnier versions). You may ride in a boat called a "Reefer" or a car called the "Bf Injection". As you walk past pedestrians in different neighborhoods, you overhear strange parts of silly (and sometimes nasty) conversations. There is even a "secret" army base in the desert, called Area 69. Needless to say, this game is not for children. Even clean jokes may be over the heads of some minors because of the subjects they parody. All in all, if you like a challenging role playing game and can appreciate the little details in a big world; you will get your money's worth from San Andreas.

A Successful Transition to the Xbox
Review created: 09/27/05

Even before GTA: San Andreas’ hidden ‘Hot Coffee’ mod erupted, controversy surrounded the series and its depiction of 90’s Los Angeles and the gangs that frequent it. Though politicians and advocate groups attacked it, no can deny that it’s simply the most free-wheeling and addicting game ever made.

What makes this game so great is that it’s not a game; it’s another world. Almost anything is possible. You want to work out? You can do that. Shoot pool and bet on it? You can do that too. It’s the rare game that serves up unlimited replay potential since the game itself never really ends. The main storyline may wrap up but there’s still a whole world out there waiting for you to stir trouble up.

It would not be a stretch to call GTA: San Andreas the pinnacle of the Xbox. It’s likely to stay that way as we wave so long to the Xbox and welcome the 360 in the coming months.

It boggles the mind how high the expectations will be for the next incaranation. One thing is for sure, Rockstar Games is up to the task and will deliver a phenomenal effort.

I could go on for hours about the game but chances are you already know everything you need to know: this is a must-have for your gaming collection.

Just buy this Game!!!!!!! It is sick from the First mission! It has alot of jokes too. You must laugh.Just the fact that there is too much foul languages. But it is all worth wild. All the features and activities in the game will cover up all the slacks. From using a parachute to flying learjets and armyjets and so on.The missions are very easy thouth. And the game is very huge.Another awsome feature is that you can play free roam around the state with two players!!!!!!!! And the eating is mad too.You can eat at a burger shot,a clucken bell where they sell chicken and more and a pizza stack.they even sell salads too.

GTA San Andreas- Rockstar's Crown Jewel
Review created: 03/10/06
6 of 6 people found this review helpful.

San Andreas is by far the crown jewel of the Rockstar Lineup. As Carl Johnson you return to the fictional city of Los Santos after your mother has been murdered. Along the way you meet a slew of characters, voiced by high profile celebrities such as James Woods, Samuel L. Jackson, and many others.

Unlike previous GTA games, San Andreas is a state, with three large cities and miles of sprawling country side. The storyline of this game is great, with a plot that will keep you interested from start to finish. Once you complete the storyline the game remains fresh with plenty of mini games, side missions, and the overall fun that comes with causing random mayhem by gunning down pedestrians, blowing up cars, skydiving, swimming, working out, and more.

Your video game collection is not complete until you own a copy of San Andreas, arguably the greatest game ever to hit any console.

I love this game. Many other people don’t. If you like a game that is on the edge. A game that breaks the rules. Than this is the game for you. However, if you don’t like games where you kill cops, blow people up, wreck cars, and kick people around DONT BUY THIS GAME. If you like doing those things in a video you might really like this game. Not to mention it has a great story line and is one of the most sold games ever.

  Under 18 NOT ADMITTED

I've been playing GTA since the early days on PC. Where you run around from a helicopter sytle view killing little people. My oh my have we come a long way.

The story like is actually quite intense. You are given the opportunity to choose your path and acquire more property, money and weapons for certain missions.

DO NOT LET CHILDREN PLAY THIS GAME. It is much too violent for any kid. You run around shooting cops, watching hookers beg for clients, watching people sell drugs on the corner. You regularly have to kill of rival gang members - but the action doesn't stop there. It grows into a storyline that even Oliver Stone could appreciate.

Let me cut to the chase - if you are an adult who enjoys video games, then you should own this already. If you don't get off your butt, buy it, and get ready to be playing nonstop for the next month. If you are looking to buy for a child, please move to the next review (you can see others from me!).

...Another review by Sublime Boutique.

This game is delicious! It was a little too crunchy though, and now I think shards of plastic are destroying my stomach. Another problem is that the disc will not fit into my Nintendo.

I was excited to see this item on auction because it had been taken off of the market in recent months and I had not aquired it. Upon winning the bid a swift
paypal transaction and even swifter delivery from my vendor. I can say that I was blissfully happy playing this game for the entire weekend. So much so that I was late sending my feedback in. This is an expansive game ane will provide hours of entertainment. My overall ebay experience has been great.

Excellent game but not for kids.

I am an adult and have kids and I have to say that we as adults have to make sure that our kids do not play Adult or Mature rated games. Its as simple as comparing to everything else that is age restricted. Video Games are not just for kids anymore. Everyone who played Pong, Atari2600, even NES, are in their twenties or even early thirtys. So this game is GREAT in every aspect. Just not for kids or teenagers, who can be very ignorant.

I bought this after playing a friends game. I owned the previous games Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City. I bought this to play on the Xbox 360, not the original Xbox.
I love the ability to do whatever you want in the game. Sure the missions come in a certain order, but it's up to you when you want to do them. If you just want to drive around and get to know the streets, or evade the police for fun, go ahead and do it. The missions will wait for you.
The camera can be a little tricky sometimes and when you are driving a lowrider with bouncing abilities it downright sucks. But it's a small price to pay.
This game is a lot of fun. Just make sure that there are no kids around while playing. It is very adult in nature. A lot of swearing, a lot of killing and misc. violence. This is one of those games where people like to blame the game for what other people do. It just isn't so. If you see violence and then go out and do it, there is something wrong with that individual. I've grown up with violence and I am fine. It is the individual that does wrong things, not the game.
I hope this review helps in some way and I hope you enjoy the game. It is a blast.

this game is average at best. i liked the first and second ones but this one went overboard, if you like the GTA series, you will like this one too from a pure gameplay point of view but if you dont like violence and swearing this one is not for you. NOT FOR KIDS!

GTA: SAN ANDREAS as reviewed by Logan Zaske

i bought the hot coffee edition simply because i wanted to see for myself what the controversy is about..... it's nothin special to be honest, (the hot coffee part, that is.) it was overall a great game with huge expanses of territory to roam and hundreds of vehicles, a fairly decent story line, the voice acting left a lot to be desired, with cheesy lines that often made little sense, also the game seems a bit wonky at first, but you can adjust sufficiently to make it playable, a game that totally makes up for all its flaws with all the cool stuff you can do, whether you prefer stealth missions where you're stealing a harrier jet of a loaded military warship and trying like hell not to get a new hole in your head, or competing a bicycle race down a huge mountain, or just flying around in downtown los santos in your jetpack, even small minigames like atari style arcade games, or just kickin back in your tank and blowin the SH*T out of some cops, you'll love this game, there's litterally about a hundred hours of good gameplay in this thing, unless you cheat, or get internet help (same thing) and too much to do to even begin to list it all, this does mean theres a small lack of a specific focus to the game as a whole; it isn't a dedicated rpg, or a dedicated racing game, or a dedicated fps, it's all that and more in one, not a game for everyone as theres a lot of swearing, but most people can get over that. it really is one of the few games that is hard enough for the most experienced gamer, but fun enough to be enjoyed by even the first time player. and lastly i must say if you plan to buy it and have the option of going for xbox version or ps2 version, go for the xbox version, it is much cleaner, smoother, and better graphics overall. enjoy the game and i hope you like it as much as i have.

This game is the best GTA to date. More activities and missions. Bigger open ended playing field. I have played it on the first X-box system and beat it, hten got rid or it so i could buy the 360. sold the game because at first they said games wouldn't be compatiable. then they made them playable and so i bought it again to play. I have played so of the other open ended games that are new to the 360 and i still like GTA far more than the competition.

This is one of the best games of the grand theft franchise. The graphics are not to die for but, It's still worth the buy for th millions of things you can do in this game. The list is never ending: stealing cars, killing everyone, breaking into houses, robing people and places, eating food to get fat, working out to get buff and to lose weight, and that's just in the first half of the game. The things just keep coming. A++. Worth it everyday!

Rockstar has once again made a hit! The Grand Theft Auto Series is a perfect example of how the video game industry should be. Ever since the first one on the P.C. came out, this series has shown to evolve into the fantastic beast that it is now. There is almost nothing to dislike about this game. This game is perfect. Go out and buy it now!!

This is the best game I have ever played. I have owned it since it was released and continue to pop it in every once in awhile ever since. That- is play value.

My assessment of this game is not concerned with underlying meanings, racism or stereotyping. I do not believe these things (while controversial in the less fun real world) exist in San Andreas. It is a fantasy/parody world in which our own world is mirrored and mocked with unbiased cynicism. If you can’t take the joke, don’t buy it. Video games have outgrown the eleven-teen year old demographic. Get over it.

All of the glitches and unintended phenomenon that occur while in San Andreas only add flavor to the experience. All of the technical shortcomings are forgivable due to the vastness of the content. There are literally thousands of distractions that exist in San Andreas- whose only function is to keep you playing for a long time. If I was stuck on an island with only two games, they would both be San Andreas, in case one copy gets scratched by sand. 9.9/10

I like it it's just like being w/ the NWA crew in LA and with the upgrade processing like working out, eating, pawn shops, betting and gambling etc. Makes it good as far as game play and beat up and shoot and blow stuff up thing like the prior GTA games. I don't remember the graphics being as good but it's fun tons of extras and codes to try out. These games are like crack once you play you'll be hooked. If you have 360 with the "Saints Row" rip off getting this game is the reason that game exists so a must get for reg. XBOX owners.

I was looking for a birthday gift and I ran across this Grand Theft Auto so I bid on it and bought it. It was an excellent choice as the person I bought it for loved it and has been playing it since he got it. I will be looking for some more games to purchase for the same person. It came in a timely manner and it was in excellent shape. I would certainly reccommend this for someone else. I got it at a reduced price also.

Shipping was prompted and the game arrived in the condition advertised. I couldn't be happier. Now if I can only get some help on some of the harder levels... :)
