Gran Torino (DVD, 2009, Widescreen)

Clint Eastwood outdoes himself again with Gran Torino! Eastwood plays a hard-nosed Korean Vet who just lost his wife and he lives in the city where immigrants are heavily populating the area. He tries to evade his Hmong neighbors living next door, but as fate would have it- he ends up befriending this family and becoming a neighborhood hero all in one night with one act of heroism against gang members by using the skills he learned in the military. It no holds bar in this old-school film- Eastwood doesn't lightfoot around anyone, especially the priest who comes knocking on his door the day he buries his wife. Eastwood defends his territory and his unlikely new friends with a surprising twist at the end that will stun you and make you realise just how much a true hero is willing to sacrifice to get the job done. A must see!
