Gradius V preserves the franchise's classic gameplay and features stunning 3D graphics, inspired game design elements and a new control scheme that gives players more power than ever. Gradius V offers the choice of four different weapon configs prior to takeoff. All load-outs include basics like speed-up, laser and multiples. The big differences come in how each config treats its multiples. For example, the first load-out plays just like traditional Gradius games; the options merely follow the ship's movement. A new twist comes in the R1 button, which makes each config's options do something different. Also features music composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto (FF Tactics, Vagrant Story, Ogre Battle, and Radiant Silvergun). Special Features The best looking Gradius Ever ; The longest running shooting franchise of all time ; Classic Gradius action with new gameplay features and inspired level design ; 12 upgradeable power ups including the new Option Bomb and Option Stock. Warnings Mild Fantasy Violence, Mild Realistic Violence

This game in particular is hard to find. I purchased this one since it was brand new in the plastic wrapping and a used one would have cost me the same price. I love these types of games no matter how difficult or frustrating they may be. But if you dont like shooters this isnt for you. I love the graphics in this game. It reminds of a similar title I have for gamecube entitled "Ikaruga". If you loved that game, youll feel the same about this one. What I dont like about this game is that its really difficult. I also dont like how you can power up your weapons array buy obtaining power ups through out each stage. Once you get hit and die, you lose all your power ups. Thats probably the most frustrating part of all. It just adds a little more work that distracts from the gameplay. There is a code for this game though for "instant" power ups I guess you could say. Check out some of the top video game sites online, and youll find it. So, yeah, this game is good but not great. If it werent for the whole "power ups" situation I maght have given this game a 5/5. ~Nathan~ Review ID: 10000000001295436 Was this review helpful?
