Gradius Collection (PlayStation Portable, 2006)

What can really be said about this other than, yes... It's Gradius, nothing but Gradius.

Fans of the series will find this to be an excellent product, 5 Gradius games on a single UMD disc.

Compared to other game series collections Gradius Collection is very well made, the games are seemingly glitch free and feature some nice rendering improvements.. My only real complaints are that some of the options are a little confusing, the default settings are somewhat irritating, such as the semi-automatic powerup system, which I immediately set back to manual.. Also, I kind of which they included the SNES version of Gradius 3... I've never really liked the arcade version, which is what was included here.

Overall, it's a pretty good buy.

This is a great game for the psp. All the games on the disc are just like the original. Hours of fun can be found in this title. Perfect recreation of the titles almost better than the original!

The product is perfect, no scratches or anything. I bought it cause I used to love playing this game on Nintendo.
There are 5 versions of the game Gradius in this UMD. The graphics are fine and the sound gets better on the 4th and 5th version. There's the option to save the game (using the memory card). You can also just listen to the music from the 5 versions or watch some videos related to them (Galery option).

Its compact and has 5 games in 1. I have no dislikes about it except that I don't have anything to play it on yet, but it is not due to this seller. I have played this before so I already know it'll be fun!

If you are a fan of shooting game especially side scrolling then this game is for you. It comes with 5 good games that offer something different. There are a few enhancement first you can decide how many lives you need, second the game can be viewed full screen/zoom in or normal.

Remember when video games were good? Remember when it took a little more skill and a few less buttons to play? Remember when they were a little less sophisticated but a lot more fun? Pac Man? Space Invaders? Defender? They didn't have "final bosses" but you were still driven to play until your arms cramped and your hands were numb. Gradius Collections is a step in that direction if you're looking for a little gaming nostalgia. Granted, each game on this disc has a beginning and end, but the replay value of each is out the roof! The graphics are NOT state of the art and the soundtrack isn't something you'd want in your car audio system but that's okay because you're still going to be seeing it in your sleep (Tetris anyone?) and hearing it in your head. So if you're a veteran gamer (up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, start) then this is a must. If this was a little before your time, try it out and see what video games are all about.

If you've ever played Gradius then you will love this. Its all the classics thrown into one portable on-the-go-when-you-want-it package.

Everything is just like the old ones with a few extra things thrown in like all the music playable from the go, along with movies for them.

Save/Load data for scores and options.

The only flaw I can really find is there isnt a "reset" command. If you die in the middle of area 4 and lose all your power ups and want to restart, you have to exit the game and start it over again unless you just suicide all your lives and go through restarting that way.

It's very good, but not without it's flaws.

If you love a shooting game, you should get this awesome hit Gradius Collection. This game was tough to find. A must have.

This is one of my favorite games on any system. The PSP version is quite different, but with some practice it is way better than the old ones!

I bought this game because I played a version of it on Super Nintendo in the 90's. I wanted to relive the experience on the go, but it didn't turn out to be all that I remembered it to be.
