Brilliantly written, The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is one of the best example I know of, of satirical writing. Modeled after the Bible, the Gospel manages to make fun of almost every world religion, even Scientology. While it may be offensive to those with a strong religious background, for a person like me who has lost touch with religion, it is a great way to have an answer to the question, "So what denomination are you?"
Again, if you consider yourself a religious person, don't buy this book. If you are looking for some laughs at the expense of others, then by all means read on. Oh, the picture can be deceiving. The book is not a red leather bound tome, but rather a paper back with a picture of a red leather tome on a white background. But other than that, the Gospel has the answer to everything, from global warming (a global decrease in the number of pirates) to the reason that Kiwi birds don't fly (it's because they lack the proper motivation.)
My favorite part of the book is the "Eight I-Really-You-Rather-Didn'ts&qu
If you have a critical perspective on religion, and are looking for a new way, why not give the Flying Spaghetti Monster a try. You will certainly be rewarded in the afterlife with a beer volcano. Now who doesn't want one of those. This is perhaps one of the best books on religion that I have ever read. Period.

Who couldn't like a book all about the flying spaghetti monster? AND this book even comes w/ how to make YOUR VERY OWN SPAGHETTI MONSTER and how the FSM came to be and EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW TO BECOME AN HONORARY PASTAFARIAN. If you're trying to be a pastafarian, and you haven't bought this book yet, then you are NOT a pirate and CAN NOT help the global warming temperature IN THE SLIGHTEST. If you don't know what I'm talking about then you need to buy this book. If you DO know what I'm talking about and don't have this book, then you need to buy this book, take this from an honorary pastafarian.

I purchased this book not only for my own collection, but also as a gift. Everyone who has borrowed it has enjoyed it and a few have even bought copies for themselves.
The only disappointment, which is actually stated in the description of this item, is that it is not a hard cover book. I would like to someday see this in a nice hardcover to add to my shelf.
All and all, this was an excellent purchase that I would recommend to others.

This makes about as much sense as Intelligent Design, but is much, much funnier. It's sad that, in today's world of science and knowledge, superstitious garbage like creationism is still being pushed on our kids. This book goes a long way in pointing out how silly it is to look for magical or supernatural explanations for natural events.

FSM GospelFirst off the stock photo used by most of the sellers is VERY misleading, even if it is accurate. The book isn't actually orange or red it is a white paper back with a picture of an orange or red book on the cover, so BUYERS BEWARE.
The content of the book is good, but not exceptional. Personally I found the website to be far easier to read and use to find information. The author decided to put footnotes in the margin of the book page, thereby making the book a strange size. These "footnotes" also tend to be a little on the obvious and obnoxious side.
I have not read any of the other "Holy Gospel of the FSM" books. Eventually I will give the others a try and hopefully not be as disappointed as I was with this book. I was really looking forward to a softcover pleather / plastic or the like - just like the ones a lot of the bibles use.
If you have not yet heard of The Flying Spaghetti Monster and how his noodly appendage created the Universe go to the website and get an overview before going more creatively in depth with this book.

This book introduces the reader to the truth of the Pastafarianism, the religion that believes that a Flying Spaghetti Moster has created the universe and everything that inhabits it. Written tongue in cheek, it displays a fine sense of humour with intelliget remarks, trying to offer alternative theories to well established scientific ideas, misxing religion in everything, of course.
Ideal for the scientist in your family, or for that agnostic or atheist friend.

I never received the book. And I only got a partial refund. Why in the hell do I have to pay shipping on a product I never received. It doesn't make sense to me.
