For the past two years I've borrowed Gooseberry Patch Christmas Books from my library before Thanksgiving and renewed them so I could keep them through Christmas! The books are full of fun crafts, short heart-warming stories and comforting recipes.
With my recent purchase of Gooseberry Patch Christmas Book 7 I no longer need to worry about having a library cookbook on the kitchen counter! Some favorite recipes from this book are Snow Cocoa (White hot cocoa made in the crock pot), Simple Broccolli Casserole (brocolli, stuffing dish) and Peppermint pinwheels (colorful cookies). My daughter loves the chocolate truffles and we all enjoy the many slow cooker recipes to enjoy after a long winter day.
Last year I enjoyed the Fruit cake recipe so much, I made two dozen to give to family and friends with the attached note "no nuts, no rum, just fruitcake, yum!"
The recipes from the book have gone from "something new to try" to our holiday traditions!
