Goodbye Alice in Wonderland by Jewel (CD, May-2006, Atlantic USA)

If you were missing the Jewel from the 90s and early 2000s, then this is the CD for you! The whole CD tells a story, each song weaving representing a chapter in Jewel's life. My favorite song on the CD, "Stephenville" tells about Jewel moving to Texas because she "fell in love with a man". Very pure, back to basics Jewel. Love it!

Jewel is Back! This is definitely the Jewel i remember. Im so glad she went back to her old music and said goodbye to pop. I love this cd and its definitely worth the money. This has become another of my favorite cds.

It's a pleasure listeing to this story-book like album. As Jewel described in many of her interviews, the 13 songs tell the story of Jewel from her solitude in Alaska, to Hollywood, and back to a ranch in Texas. Many of the songs, have a strong rock-and-roll style while some others have her traditional folk style. I personally love the title song the most!

Awesome. Totally and truley, I like her new artsy approach. Its a very wholesome, nice, up lifting album to redeem herself from her slip up in her 0304 album. 'Goodbye Alice in Wonderland' is a very down to earth peaceful song that is very nice. I love this new album.

I love the first song, but the rest of songs are strange, and many of the lyrics don't make any sense. Jewel was being really 'artsy' with this one. If you are looking for a CD to song along to, this isn't the one. I prefer the Jewel of the 90's over this 'unique' new style.

Except for her last ablum this year, Jewel has no talent at singing. Maybe the "country" in her will bring her back. Have never understood how she got where she got with such bad singing. She would have been cut from American Idol at first performance.

Critics said that Jewel returned to her roots on Goodbye Alice In Wonderland so I had to pick this one up. Unfortunately, my expectations were too high and it didn't deliver. Jewel tries to be crafty and there are a few nice songs but for the most part it sounds like all the other junk that tries to pass itself off as folk these days. Jewel is capable of much much better than this. Maybe next time. 2 Stars.

My husband had been wanting to get this album for a long time and thought it too expensive even for Walmart. I was happy to find a reasonable deal online. He loves the CD and listens to it all the time.

I like every one of her CD's.The only one I think is better than this is "This Way".She has a nice soothing feminine voice and conducts herself with classiness that isn't often seen these days!

I bought the Jewel CD for a Christmas present for my daughter. I love the CD and the price was excellent. The CD arrived very quickly, in perfect, new condition. The whole transaction was without a flaw. As usual. I love shopping on eBay.

I bought the CD for one particular song ( Good bye Alice in Wonderland of coarse ) and have enjoyed the entire CD as much as the one song itself

I think this is an amazing CD, and anyone would love and appreciate the songs and the stories they tell. Her voice is angelic, the music is unbelievably soothing, the lyrics tell the stories like the heart was speaking for itself. You can listen to this CD over and over without growing tired of the magic it holds and feeds to your soul.

An overall great album that brings back memories of Jewel's earlier days. I didn't find any songs that really spoke to me, but this is the kind of album that you can listen to all the way through and generally enjoy. It's worth the purchase.

Jewel is back! After her 0304 detour into the dance world, Jewel finally returns to her roots. The album sounds alot like This Way and is amazing. I have always been a Jewel fan and I bought it because I knew it would be amazing after hearing Again and Again.

I decided to by this cd because I had heard one of her songs on the radio and just new the whole cd was going to be great.

I decided to buy this Cd because I have all of Jewels other Cd's and I know that she is very talented, I have yet to listen to this Cd but I have heard her singing from this Cd and that influenced me to purchase it.

This is the lastest cd by one of my favorite artists. This cd returns more to the Jewel that everyone loves. The lyrics are better the music is better. Looks like she's putting 0304 behind her and getting back to business. The title track is the best on the cd in my opinion. It's a must for any Jewel fan!

I have always enjoyed Jewel. This CD is one of her best. Alice In Wonderland grabbed my attention immediately. Her voice as such range. Beautiful!

Jewel suggests (demands?) you listen to the CD in order. I listened to this as if I was reading a book and it was fantastic ! I just hope she has really found inner piece ..... not to sound like a Bible thumper but much of her work sounds like she is seaching to fill that empty spot in her soul which can be filled wit a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Note: this is not a "religious" CD but rather a story of someone "seaching for what is missing" in her life.
Highly suggested as a must listen to.

Jewel has delivered another wonderful CD.. It goes through her life from the time she started till now. And she delievrs songs without giving too much away, But getting the point across. You have to really be a fan, Know what she's been through- To "get it".. If you listen to the words, And the songs as wholes.. You WILL understand the songs.... It's ALL there in black and white. She writes things that aren't obvious.. But they are if you pay much attention!!
