Synopsis
The classic story of English school life, by the celebrated popular novelist. Mr. Chipping (alias Chips) is a shy and somewhat reclusive scholar who takes a post as classics master at Brookfield, a small boarding school in the English countryside, and remains there for the rest of his life. Despite a brief, happy, and tragic marriage, he grows into the role of the consummate bachelor, cantankerous, fussy and eccentric, and greatly loved by the generations of boys who pass through his classes.
