A Good Year (DVD, 2007, Widescreen; Valentine Faceplate)

This is a cute, funny, feel good movie, a bit of a chick flick but I think my hubby would have like it. Great look and feel to the movie. Under rated and under promoted. i will buy this movie.

A Good Year, starring Russel Crowe and directed by Ridley Scott was Not A Good Movie. Russel Crowe is completely dissapointing in this made-to-be-funny regurgitated Scrooge meets Jerry Maguire meets Under a Tuscan Sun meets French Kiss meets blah blah blah... don't waste your time on this one. The only thing that was good about this movie were the beautiful French landscapes that were added in as time filler and ended up making it the only thing enjoyable thing. Save yourself the two hours.

What a great movie.When this first came out I didn't even know it existed.Leave it to Russell Crowe to make a great "chick flick" movie that guys can watch as well.Most of the movie takes place in the south of France where the scenery and the town the story unfolds in are magical.Crowes leading lady Marion Cotillard is beautiful beyond compare.Not only did the story hold my attention but it is very funny as well.I highly recomend this movie for anyone.

Makes you think what real values are in life. Russell Crowe is excellent. Setting is beautiful. Too bad it was underated at the box office. Very little bad language. I only buy movies I feel I'll enjoy seeing time and again.

It was a lovely story with a very good message! I saw it on cable and wanted my own DVD. It is a love story that takes place in Provence, France. Russell Crowe is convincing in his character. It gives a message that deals with what is really important in life. It is set in a beautiful location and is a lot of fun to watch.

there's nothing better than a fun, romantic movie with wine overtones, and although i loved SIDEWAYS, i really enjoyed A GOOD YEAR just a bit more...the beauty of Provence, coupled with a great story and wonderful acting, made me want to purchase my own copy, for i'll be watching this movie often..congrats to Ridley Scott and his crew for a wonderful movie experience!!

I am not a Russell Crowe fan but caught part of this movie while staying at a hotel. Did not catch the name so had to do some research to figure out the title. I feel it was worth the search. Enjoyed the movie. It has a couple of neat turns. Sorta a male Bridget Jones in reverse.

Best Russell Crowe movie ever. I hated Gladiator and all of his cookie cutter movies where he plays essentially the same character. This is one that I can actually say I liked. And the female lead was fabulous!
My Husband and I quote this movie often and invariably watch it whenever it is on TV. We have even started calling our cat Tatee - or Bad Tatee. "Pretty Cool..'eh" is another one that has double meaning when we are out with friends and see something rather bizarre. None-the-less it is a fun movie that we enjoy often.

great couples movie, light hearted, funny, just enought romance, turn off the lights and seat back and enjoy.

Saw the movie on cable. Liked it alot. Good humor with likeable characters, and good grief, no violence!

It is a charming love story and character study of Max played by Crowe, I believed the stpry, loved the twists and turns, excellent ensemble cast.

I love the story this movie tells. I saw it for the first time on Satellite T.V. and had been looking for it in local stores to no avail so when I found it listed on EBay I took advantage.

I'm not normally a Russell Crowe fan, but I thought he did a great job in this film. Albert Finney was also super, with lots of contributions by folks I hadn't seen before. Russell Crowe in a tiny European car was definitely worth a lot of laughs. Overall, it was a wonderful and bittersweet story with a great ending. A great date movie. I could watch it again and again.

Totaly enjoyed the movie, and I usually don't care for Russell Crow. He was cute and the story was fun light and completely enjoyable.

I recently took a cruise where this movie was featured. My wife and I enjoyed the movie so much that I decided to purchase it on Ebay. It is a wonderful and romantic story of a young lady and her niece who comes to live with her. What's not to like about this movie!!!

Russell Crowe is not one of my favorite actors. I wouldn't pick a movie because he was in it. But a true French addict, this movie also stars an actress from one of my favorite French movies, and she is excellent and there is Albert Finny who makes the movie. He is the main character, and Crowe is only supporting Finney's influence. Its fairly predictible, which is in a way comforting, like an old fashion cheeze burger, but there is lovely scenery and witty dialog, and that s what makes movies. Watch it. Max Rainet.

I love this movie! "A Good Year" is very well done and I think it is a movie I will watch over and over. The cast is perfect and the story is well written. It leaves you with a good feeling of romance along with some good laughs. I would recommend this highly entertaining movie to all.

One of the best "feel good" movies I have ever seen. Of course, having lived en Provence for over two years means that the movie was very nostalgic... it brought back many dear memories for me! Well acted and mise en scene; highly recommended especially for you francophiles.

Humor, romance, great acting, a well written script. Russell Crowe is great as Max. Strong supporting cast. Albert Finney is warm and the ideal uncle. Pop some popcorn, sit back and relax. A great date DVD!!!

I decided to buy this DVD because I heard it was good. It wasn't such an excellent movie to me. Over all I thought it was Average.
