A Good Year (DVD, 2007, Full Frame)

A Good Year is one of my favorite movies of all time. I am a big fan of Provence. Gordes, the town that Russell Crowe drives his Smart Car around the round-about multiple time is one of the most beautiful places on this planet. Besides the breathtaking landscape portrayed in this movie, the central theme hits me in my heart - that there is most definitely more to life than occupational success and money. There is a "passion" portrayed here by the residents in France that I am most amazingly attracted to. Those of you who have it, will know what I am talking about. Those of you who don't, won't fully appreciate this movie!

I'm the writer of Pug At The Beach. When I work on the illustrations for my book, I turn off the music and put on a good movie. That's exactly what A Good Year is, a good movie. The photography is gorgeous, the music is great, and the story is endearing.

I first saw this movie on TV and thought, hey this is great. At this moment I am gathering a small collection of movies for watching with my kids and wife and definetly chose this one to be in. No violence, great story, nice places. Made me think that many of us may need a change of life.

I liked this movie when I wtched it with my sisiter...and decided to watch it again. It reminds me to remember what's important in life. Just a great feel good movie

a good year is a rare chick movie even us guys would love. Rusell Crowe is a mans man and Marion Cotillard is that firey french woman every man wish his wife or girlfriend would be. The film is great for evening in, with a bottle of wine. Men this is a cheap date even your girlfriend and wife would love. I give this film 4 1/2 kisses.

A wonderful witty and lighthearted romantic comedy reflecting the fast-paced material focused life vs. one of appreciation and value of simple things in life. The story of one man's journey to evaluate his ethics, his previous relationship with his uncle while growing up as a young boy, his lifestyle and his issues with intimacy ~ all amidst beautiful scenery in Italy. Written with a wry sense of humor and witty reparte', this is a joy to watch and we've shared it with our friends who thoroughly enjoyed watching it with us and a good bottle of wine. Highly recommend!

A different type of role for Russell Crowe, possibly his best ever. Well casted supporting actors, just a great "feel good" movie. Tres bon !

This is one of my favorite films, a sweet escape from the ordinary. Russell Crowe is wonderful in this, with an evolving romantic persona, and is supported by the other sometimes quirky, loveable characters. The musical soundtrack is a great mix of old and new, with some artists I had never experienced. I love the French, the French countryside, and find this flick an enjoyable diversion, you may too.

A fan of Russell Crowe I expected to like it, but I LOVED it! He is such a comedian! It was warm, funny and very entertaining. This is one of those movies that one watches more than once...because it is so enjoyable!

If you love France or think you would love to go - THIS is the movie for you. The scenery is fabulous!!! The plot is multi-layered...you can watch it time and time again and still find interesting new things. The characters are very dimensional thus even their flaws become endearing... I had seen the movie in the theatre and was entranced but loved the DVD even more.

By far my most favorite Russel Crow movie yet. This is the tale of a harried English businessman who inherits his uncles vineyard in France. At first he is all about selling this place and just getting back to business and work. There are other characters tossed into the mix and he ends up falling in love with the slow paced life of the vineyard, as well as a beautiful French woman who was his childhood friend.
Defiantly a movie for my personal collection, as it is uplifting, joyous and reminds us all to slow down, and pay more attention to the smaller moments of life, as these are the moments when life happens.

Russell Crowe is not one of my favorite actors. I wouldn't pick a movie because he was in it. But a true French addict, this movie also stars an actress from one of my favorite French movies, and she is excellent and there is Albert Finny who makes the movie. He is the main character, and Crowe is only supporting Finney's influence. Its fairly predictible, which is in a way comforting, like an old fashion cheeze burger, but there is lovely scenery and witty dialog, and that s what makes movies. Watch it. Max Rainet.

This film has many funny moments and some good performances. I had a little trouble with the smattering of blue language and sexual references, but if one can get past that there are enough laughs to balance it. Interesting glimpse into European sensibilities for an American audience; redemption from the love of money through the love of family and a good woman is the classic theme. Leaves one with a smile, and that's always a good thing in a movie!

A great entertaining movie about love, connection, family, faith and all set in a beautiful country. Russell Crowe is excellent in the roll of a business man who realizes there is more to life than yelling at what he calls a lot of lab rats.

If you like warm, well written and acted movies, this is one you shouldn't miss. I liked it so well I bought a copy for my DVD library, so I can enjoy it whenever I want. A real feel good movie.

Received the DVD so fast that I almost didn't know what it was. The DVD was in wonderful condition. So far I have not had any problems.
