  Good morning Vietnam

One day I just wanted to watch the real uncut version of this show. I don't have pay TV so the only way to watch Robin Willams in action is to own his movie. I almost wish I could buy him when he was first on TV as Mork.

  BEST ROBIN WILLIAMS PERFORMANCE
Review created: 04/16/08

THIS IS UNDOUBTFULLY THE BEST ROBIN WILLIAMS MOVIE! EVEN IF YOU'RE NOT A ROBIN WILLIAMS FAN THIS IS A GREAT VIETNAM WAR MOVIE THAT IS BOTH HEARTBREAKING AND HILARIOUSLY FUNNY. ROBIN WILLIAMS DOES AN EXCELLENT PORTRAYAL OF A WARTIME RADIO DJ.

This is Robin Williams at his best. Hillarious scenes as a DJ and serious scenes as a soldier in this remarkable film during the Viet Nam war. Great cast and well worth the time to see.

  Good Morning, Vietnam (1998, DVD)
Review created: 01/30/08

here never has been, and probably never will be, another film which shows both sides of Williams to such a great degree.

As the wise-cracking disc-jockey, Williams shows his undisputed wild comedic talent, but the bomb scene and scenes of rural Vietnam life, truly allow Williams to such his dramatic acting ability. They look at the conflict, without getting in too deep."Good Morning, Vietnam" is truly Robin Williams at his best. As anarchic DJ Adrian Cronauer in 1965 Saigon, he makes sure that you never stop laughing. I really liked what he did with the tape of Richard Nixon's speech, and then his comment about the bombing of a restaurant. Most amazing is that he ad-libbed the whole thing (but hey, that's Robin Williams). Maybe Cronauer wasn't that wacky in real life, but every one of Williams' comments makes the movie worthwhile. The soundtrack even includes his monologues (you'll go crazy over the imitation of Lyndon Johnson, and the commentary from "Roosevelt E. Roosevelt").
A superb cast as well including Bruno Kirby and the late great J.T. Walsh gives a solid backdrop, and are beautiful foils to Williams.

Overall, a wonderful movie,A comedy classic in every sense..

This movie has great scenery and shows the different points of view people may have about a situation. It also shows how important one person can be to others. This is a funny yet very moving movie.

  Good Morning Vietnam

Despite seeing it three times (for me, that's a lot!) I love this movie because it gives an excellent insight into the general life in Vietnam outside of combat. Also, the movie gives an excellent view of those whose way of life was changing in the 60s and those who were permanently stuck in reverse.

  Good Morning Vietnam

I like Robin William's spontaneous humor. I do not know why but I expected to get more scenes of Vietnam but there were some. I bought it due to a recommendation from my nephew as something that most likely my mother would like to see. I think that some of Robin William's other movies are better because there are more people involved.
