Thanks for selling this CD by an amazing Ethiopian artist. Ejigayehu "Gigi" Shibabaw, inspired by Aster Aweke another Ethiopian singer from the oldschool era has a powerful yet mellow voice. Her voice aided by the tinkering, rambling, mishmash of strings, guitars and percussion of Bill Laswell and others sounds even more put together on this album. Her eponymous debut is not to be missed either. My favourite tracks are "Utopia" and "Jerusalem" which I believe is about the displaced Ethiopian Jews that during the 80s and 90s moved to the holy land. Another delicious slice of mama Africa from a beautiful, young singer. Go get you some!
