This is another in Dolphina's 'Goddess Workout' bellydance instruction series. She has an easy, accessable style of teaching, which makes it easy to learn the basics as well as advanced dance techniques. As always she starts with a warm up; good for ANY exercise routine, before getting into the actual veil moves.
Her explanations and demonstrations are easy to follow and understand for almost anyone of any age. She's an encouraging instructor whose demeanor is meant to build confidence in the student no matter the age or experience level.
Since this is part of a SERIES it is best viewed after seeing the previous entries, unless you are already an experienced dancer who's just looking for a few pointers or new moves for their routine. If you're new to dance, starting with veil work is kind of like trying to run before learning to walk, or watching a movie starting in the middle. You kind of lose the basics.
As always she ends with a cool down period, another good habit for exercisers.
If there's anything I can point to as being negative in this it's that at @25 minutes, it's a bit short for my liking. She covers basic veil techniques but I think she could have done more to flesh out the video. I would have liked to have seen expansion of techniques, possibly short routines, more combinations. I think it could have easily been expanded to an hour without running out of things to say or do with a veil.
I still recommend it to anyone studying belly dance since Dolphina is an excellent instructor. She knows her subject well and, what is more, is able to convey what she knows to the student. Something that not all teachers can do well.
