    The book is exactly what it says on the cover. A narrative about what's wrong with organized religion, and how the world has become a much more dangerous and frightening place in the name of religion. Of course, it's not about god, but about how people manipulate and brainwash other people in the name of their particular god. I knew it was bad; the terrorists we are dealing with now are a prime example; but it's even worse than I imagined and has been this way for over 2000 years. The author is an expert on his subject and submits the simple facts and practical examples for your perusal. It's one of the most frightening books I've ever read.

    Although I found his writing style quite abrasive (and at some points even contemptuous of religious sorts), he presented sound logic and facts that really added some firepower to my agnostic beliefs. Contrary to the title's suggestion, this book is not so much an argument against GOD or belief in a higher power, as it is against religion and it's adverse effects on mankind (hence the subtitle How Religion Poisons Everything). A good read for anyone of any faith (or of no faith). It shouldn't offend if you are educated and open minded, religious or not.
