While Collins's seething rasp veers on terrifying, his ironic slacker apathy ("Mankind is unkind, man") reveals a humor that allows GOD LUCK to reach a somewhat broader audience. But for anyone who likes their bass turned down low, their guitars cranked up to phenomenal levels of feedback, and their drums in resolutely mid-tempo bash mode, GOOD SPEED is as chuggingly satisfying as this stuff gets.
