It is a good business story with twist. Trying to teach you manufacturing operation in a nut shell. Although lots of business majors may like it, it is simply poor written story

) I was amazed at this book. I have heard so much about it at work and decided to get it, I could not put it down. The crazy part is, it is not something I would normally pick to read. I can't wait to read another of Mr. Goldratt's books. I hope to meet him when I go to his institute this year for training.

A must read for cost acct and operations managersThe Goal is a novel about a plant manager seeking answers to his plant's and his personal problems. It reads very quickly because it is a novel. The novel has a few style issues but the lessons learned are almost earth shattering as it relates to standard cost accounting practices. The analogy of his son's hiking trip with plant bottlenecks is very good.

) This business novel is the operations application of Theory of Constraints. Though written in 1984, the lessons are relavant today as clear thinking and common sense are not so common. One of my favorite business books, I maintain spare copies to loan to friends.

The book is in really good condition. My only trouble was I paid for expedited shipping and it came slower than most of normal shipping, but still within the technical limits.

purpose of buyingit took management principles I was learning in school and applied them to real world situations. the love story was added in to make it easier to read but in general it is a great book to show how operations management should be run and the common mistakes most managers make in today's workforce.

Review of "The Goal"I had to read this book for Productions and Operations Management class, but I really enjoyed it and learned more from the book than I thought I would. The story has a purpose and the author is trying to make a point. Most of it is fairly obvious but in todays business / manufacturing world, the obvious is often hidden away by layers and layers of policy and lost vision,not to mention years of misdirection. Enjoy the read for what it is.
