If you want to succeed in life, you have to understand the true definition of success. Money is great. Power is wonderful. However, chasing these things assures that you will always be doing so. There will always be someone richer, smarter, and more successful that you have to keep up with. True happiness and real success requires thinking a little differently.

The Go-Giver is the story of an average Joe who’s a real go-getter. He’s always out to prove himself, always chasing down the next lead. Unfortunately, his results just never seem to equal his efforts.

In hopes of elevating his game, Joe seeks the help of a successful businessman. Serving as a mentor, this man teaches Joe the real tricks in business. The education Joe gains is invaluable. This book sort of reminds me of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, in an entertaining fictional format.

I was excited to get this book very soon after it's release. It had been recommended by the Mannatech company that is having author Bob Burg as one of it's keynote speakers at a world wide conference Mar. 7,8,9 in Dallas Tx. The principles in this book are awesome and exactly my own ideas about how to treat other people on your way up the ladder of success. There is literally room at the top for everyone. The teaching style of this book in the form of a novel is a great idea. The sharing of an idea in real life situations with personal experience "homework" should make the information easily remembered and practiced for a long time. A fun scavengerhunt to test out the idea, paying attention to the real results. It is a picture of the business world without the "rat race". It is truly a great place to enjoy in life.... no matter what your income level. It is NOT all about money. Money is simply a by-product of doing something you love and doing enough of the right things consistently at the right times. You will love this book no matter what your business or personal interest. No pushy sales pitch, Just an invitation to step through the looking glass and enjoy the life experience from the other side.

  Amazing Book
Review created: 09/02/09

You absolutely must read this book. Not only read it but act on these principles. I would give this book 11 out of 10 if possible. I have a small business and have always ran it on the principles that are applied in the book. I am not getting rich but started out with less then a dollar in my pocket and now I have a successfull business. Read it, do it!!!

  The Go=Siver, A MUST read!

The Go-Giver is a great little allegory. Written in the context of a "business" book, it offers five principls "laws" for being successful, not just in business, but with broader iplications for other areas of life as well. Quite a refreshing approach in our self-focused society. A must read! A quick read for the first time through, but enough depth to pick up nuances on subsequent reads as well.
