Go, Dog, Go by P. D. Eastman (1961, Hardcover)

I love the illustrations as well as the rhyme! The dogs are drawn so well--they are cute and dressed in the most darling outfits! It is so creative.
This is one of both my sons' favorite books. We read it and reread it again. It teaches opposites like up and down, teaches colors, and engages the reader with questions. It is funny too!

We own the board book version of many Seuss books, but the Go Dogs Go book is painfully short and not incredibly interesting. It's cute, our children do like it, so I would rate it average. There isn't a lot to be gotten out of it though, aside from adorable illustrations.

I bought these books for my grandchildren. The books are brand new not used and reasonably priced. I grew up on Dr. Suess books. The seller gets your purchase to you fast.

This book was purchased used, but in good condition. It is often a child's all-time favorite book, which can drive parents a little nutty, if it's the book their child wants to hear before bedtime every night (grin).

I wanted to give this book to our little neighbor boy, who is wild about all things wheeled. He's smart enough to become bored quickly, so a 'dumbed-down' book simply won't hold his attention.

The little fellow's mother reports that the book fascinates her son. It tends to do that with kids. The words are simple, but the dogs who ride bicycles, cars, and all sorts of wheeled things, end up in trees, on boats, and in all sorts of situations. One dog appears over and over in Carmen Miranda-style wild hats. You never know what the dogs will do next, and it has a surprise ending.

I didn't want to pay the price of a brand new book, and, to my delight, I was able to get a very good price on a gently used one.

It has been a win-win situation: I'm pleased, the little neighbor boy is delighted, and once again, eBay has come through with flying colors to make us both happy.

my 6 year old loves this book. We read it a couple times a week. The book was in very good condition.

This was the first book my daugther learned to read back in the 1970's. She loved the book. We would even quote the book to each other everyday because she liked it so much. I am getting a copy for my grandson. It is a fun book for very young children. She enjoyed anticipating what the next page would say. The book's simplicity made it easy to remember and easy to memorize.

The book is a great (silly) introduction to book reading for youngsters that are just learning to identify pictures with words.

I loved this book as a child. I am now 51 and I remember reading it with my younger brother. I hope to get a copy of it for my adopted Grand Daughter. I'm sure she'd love it. Do you like my hat? I do, I do like that hat. Great book.

This was a gift to my son-in-law. He had this book as a little boy and really enjoyed it and wanted another to have as a keepsake.

What child born after 1961 does not have fond memories of this fun, fun book?!
The copy I have, has gone through my four children and many visiting children. It has no cover and has phonetic markings from when the kids were learning to read.
The book shows a fun way of introducing colors, above, below, under, on top. The illustrations are simple and silly, (dogs with hats and scarfs and what about that pushy poodle that insists upon showing off her hats?!). You can almost see a child smile when you read through it without the benefit of a child's company! (No, I never did that:D)

Recently, I started babysitting a three year old, the perfect age to introduce this dear book. Oddly, I read it the same way to him that I did to my children almost 20 years ago!

This little guy under my care is speech delayed but making amazing progress. No other book interested him when he first came under my care except this fun, fun book.

When Christmas time came, I knew I had to find him his own copy.(One with a cover!!) When I searched ebay and discovered an opportunity to receive one WITH a stuffed Go-Dog-Go dog to boot, I was ecstatic!!

It was my favorite gift to give this year; a special memory with my new little friend and his journey of reading.

Teaches directional words, colors. Great book. My younger children love to have it read to them and my 5 & 6 yr old love to read it.

I enjoy PD Eastman books and so do my kids. He is a great illustrator, and his stories are adventurous and fun. In this wonderful little story the Dogs go and go and go. Where are they going? Well, I don't want to spoil it for you so, go ahead and read the book to find out. It is a great one to read out loud.

The reason for buying this Dr. Seuss book is for the fun of collecting and also to have a library full of classics when a first grandchild comes along. Go, Dog, Go was my daughter-in-laws favorite book as a child.
Go,Dog,Go is well written to keep interest, beautiful colorful graphics, not poetic for sure. My favorite line is "Do you Like My Hat?" The other dog answers "NO". By the end he likes the hat..it's cute.

This book by P.D. Eastman uses great color illustrations and simple vocabulary. My 2 1/2 year old likes me to read it to him every night. This is the first book I could "read" at the age of 3 and my son is learning by rote as well. It has a small vocabulary with lots of repeated words which is what young children need. It even rivals Dr. Suess.
