My 6 year old is learning to read. He is a very busy child so sitting to read is not something he wants to do. I needed to find short stories that he could read easily and be interested in.
I think phonics are the best way for a child to learn. Repetitive sounds keep their attention and make it easier for them to stay focused. These stories are very short and have alot of words that are repeated over and over so he can recognize them and feel an accomplishment.
The pictures are very descriptive and keep his attention.
Diego is a great character and his love for animals is something my son can relate to. The stories are very short and you can understand the moral of the story even in just a few short pages.

Go Diego Go
) My son loves the Go, Diego, Go books that we purchased through Ebay. He brings it with him wherever we go. It is very handy and easy to carry around. It sure keeps my 3-year old entertained on those long trips. Love it!
