
Gluten-Free Gourmet Cooks Comfort Foods by Hagman

What do you do when your husband of many years up and develops an allergy/intollerance to ALL wheat and/or gluten foods and products containing the same?? Why you go to Ebay to see what there are in the way of cookbooks to help you navigate this new terrain! Bette Hagman has written several books covering receipes, where to mail order for supplies and flours I never knew existed before the news from the doctor that "thou shall not eat...". Where do you find/make bread now? Did you know soy sauce and ice cream and boxed mashed potatos and potato chips ALL had modified food starch?? In other words - flour - in them? The only thing I wish these cookbooks had were color pictures of how these recipes should look when cooked. I'm a visual person. But the recipes are good. They taste like what I have been making for years - just using new "wheat free" flours and other additives instead of bread crumbs or all purpose flour. I would recommend them for those afflicted with this allergy needing help in learning how to cook/bake a new and different way.
