Sources of Inspiration For Needlepoint and Knitting

The subtitle of this book is "Sources of Inspiration For Needlepoint and Knitting, With 17 Projects". The book is by Kaffe Fassett and the Photography is by Steve Lovi; both Fassett and Lovi are tremendously talented, and the result is one outstanding book. It is 160 pages long, illustrated in color with gorgeous photos, charts and diagrams.
In my opinion, this book is as much coffee table book as it is craft pattern book. The photos are lovely and inspiring. Fassett explores a variety of motifs in various color combinations. He also treats us to a peek at his inspiration in the form of decorative collectibles, mostly from the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum. The book features beautiful people wearing beautiful clothing in beautiful settings, plus a few gorgeous handcrafted items for the home.
The only downside to this book is that you'd have to be super-self-confident to wear these designs. They are not for "shrinking violets"! The clothing features color, color and more color- you cannot hide in one of these sweaters, vests or shawls. The designs are classic in nature and quite unique. You won't find anything like them at your local walmart, that's for sure!
