Glorious Appearing, the final and twelth in a series of twelve by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins.

Glorious Appearing is the story of the End of Days and the continuing drama of those Left Behind. You will find it a remarkable storyline and an easy read.

From the Synopsis : 'It's been over seven years since the Rapture and almost exactly seven years since Antichrist's covenant with Israel. Believers look to the heavens for the Glorious Appearing of Christ, as the world stands on the brink of the End of Time.'

After reading the third book in the series my Opinion is that the series has gotten better with each new book.

You won't be able to put it down and you will be sad that it is finally over.

The best Prophecy based fiction I have ever read. I would recommend this book to all.

Very wonderful! We move from the start of Armageddon all the way to the appearance of Christ and the setting up of his kingdom. I found some of the descriptions of the three battles to be gruesome - but very Biblical as prophecy says "blood will run to the height of a horse's bridle." Rafe is seriously injured during, but not in, the battle of Petra but is miraculously returned to perfect condition with the appearance of the Lord. I loved all the Word coming from the Word's mouth and the slaughter of all the enemies of God at his Word. The personalized responses given to each person was wonderful beyond describing! Oh to have Jesus cup your face and speak directly to you!!! The hail and earthquake that do not injure one Believer, how wondrous! The description of the end of the Beast and False Prophet, then Lucifer gave you pictures to go with the words in Revelations. I felt very sorry for the "goats" who had defied God once too often or who had sided with the Antichrist. I would as God would that "all might be saved". I found myself praying for the people who will live through the Tribulation throughout these books - that they will turn to God and away from the Antichrist. I pray the Tribulation saints will be strong and of good faith. This was a wonderful book in a wonderful series - I can't wait to read "Kingdom Come." Amen.

I bought this book because I was into reading the whole series and this one is the next to last one (for now). I have read these books when I should have been doing other things because I couldn't put them down! At one point, I was reading a book a day! I have learned so many things about the end times that I was not aware of. When I started reading this series, I read it with a very "critical" eye to see if the author kept his story line close to the Bible account and I have to say that he has. In reading this series of books I have decided several things. One is that I wish to "be raptured". Of course, that involves living as Christ would have me live (or as close to it as I can possibly get)---after all, no one is perfect, only Jesus Christ! I don't want to have to live thru the Tribulation as it's going to be ROUGH! This series of events is just the author's own person idea of what it MIGHT be like. It will probably be much worse! The people who thought they were living good lives but missed the rapture, had to endure a great deal. Of course, in the end, it's all worth it! I keep remembering a passage in the book where Jesus is saying, "I will reign over the house of Judah forever, and of My kingdom there will be no end. As the Father knows Me, even so I know my sheep (that's the Christians). I am the Lamb who will lead you to living fountains of waters, and God will wipe away every tear from your eyes." You know, there is a reason we are put on this earth, and that is to praise our Maker. There is something inside each of us that just crys to praise Him! But the adversary (the Prince of the Air) deludes us into thinking that life is all about US. Our comfort is the main thing and we do what we like and want to do. I can guarantee that if you read this series of books, you will never be the same again. And you won't put off doing that which you know to be right---living the right way and giving your life to Jesus! Don't delay or you may find yourself in the middle of the tribulation! You know, you can't just live good lives, but you have to make that commitment to Christ and give your life over to Him--sins and all! He loves you---do you hear Him calling? One more book to read and then I'm done reading this series. I'm kinda disappointed 'cause I would like to go on reading.

Hi!
I really liked this book which is part of the LEFT BEHIND series which is based on the last book of the NEw Testament, REVELATIONS. I liked this book because it was easy reading and made the prophecies in REVELATIONS more understandable. The authors start with LEFT BEHIND which covers events after the RAPTURE. There are several books. After I read Glorious Appearing [G. A.], I realized I should have started at the beginning [but you don't HAVE TO to comprehend what's going on with the characters and WHO these people are because the authors include tidbits from the other books to explain who/what HAS HAPPENED.] The whole series is a typical good vs. evil and is set in MODERN-FUTURE TIMES, not centuries ago. I decided to get all the books in the series because I liked G.A. so much and its authors method of writing. I have all but one now and have read two more and liked them as well. I tend to like series with the same characters involved at different times in different experiences like the Patricia Cornwell mysteries.

Another 'benefit' of these books is that they encourage Christians to become REAL Christians, not just 'in name only' ones. As a human I have difficulty with thinking LONG TERM and these books do a good job of describing EVIL and the WONDERS of God and what He offers to us.
Have fun reading! I will probably 'donate'or lend the books to our church's library because of my positive feelings about this series.

The end of the Left Behind series

Finally, the much awaited end of the story. Very descriptive to the point of being able to visualize the final battles and the appearing of Christ. I felt that the ending was well though out. I appreciate the fact that the writers knew when it was time to end the series and not let it go on just for the sake of more sales.

This book is the last of the left behind series, it depicts the book of Revelation remarkably. I don't know how you can read this book and not accept the Lord as your savior.

As with the rest of the Left Behind series, this book held my attention. I was rather disappointed that the glorious appearing itself came about late in the book. I did find myself giggling quite a bit with this one, especially in how the reaction of the children was written. I found this book rather humorous, especially the actions and reactions of the evil ones. Dr. LaHaye and Mr. Jenkins are fabulous authors, making this book easy to read. I recommend it highly for anyone who has an interest in scriptural prophecy. Although the storyline is fictional, it is Scripturally based and gives Scriptural references throughout the entire series.

AWESOME BOOK! Ideal for any christian library!!! The book is very accurate with the bible, a great read! My only quirk is that you definately need to read the first 11 books to FULLY understand all of this book! I also recommend all of the left behind books, I've yet to be disappointed by one!!

For those who are ambiguous regarding the details of the Book of Revelations can use this book as a way to visualize the events as they happen to real people. This is not a substitute for extensive bible study. However, it is entertaining and will encourage you to find out more regarding Jesus' return

I am a regular at church. I have read the whole series of Left Behind books. I thought they were well written, showed a great deal of research and very clear. I liked the story even tho it was written as fiction, I loved how the Bible was explained even tho was written as fiction and the only thing I disliked about the books was they were not long enough. I didn't want them to end. I hope this has answered all of your questions.

I haven't read the book as of yet. I am reading the entire series. I am on book # 6 right now, "The Assassins". Thus far, I have found the series to be riveting. I have trouble putting the books down. I would highly recommend the series of "Left Behind" to everyone. We all need to believe in Jesus Christ. He is our Way, Truth and Life. Can hardly wait to finish the series. I hope Tim Lahaye and Jerry B. Jenkins continue to write. There books may be fiction; however, they give you much to think about.

The Second Coming of Christ Imagined
Review created: 12/02/07

Since I've read the entire series, naturally I had to pick this one up as, obviously it would be last or one of the last that could possibly be done in this series (before they came up with the prequels, which are good). This book takes the Second Coming of Christ and describes it in a book form. This is two people's imagination as this much information is not contained in the Bible. But, the writer's put into words what I could have imagined. I think that they did a good job describing Christ's love for us.

I have loved reading this series and highly recommend it to anyone. The series gives you a clear image of what will happen after the return of Christ. Although this is fictional the books are well written paralleling scripture. The authors obviously gave themselves to deep study and prayer to accomplish these works. Glorious Appearing deals with the actual end of life as we know it and Jesus's return to claim His people. Fabulous! Should be read by everyone from all walks of life.

Glorious Appearing by Jerry B. Jenkins, Tim Lahaye
Review created: 05/09/07

It starts out VERY SLOW!More like reading my Bible (KJV Holy Bible)as there's so many quotes until you get to about the third chapter and then it takes off like a race horse true to Jerry B. Jenkins & Tim LaHaye form. There's once again the plot where the bad guys attack the Good guys and we're left to figure out...has he really turned for the "OTHER SIDE"? OR is he innocent, and how can and will he prove such? Can he stop them from their devious, dasterdly, plan,or will many succumb to their ideas and be separated forever from God?Which side will they each take? Gotta reead it to find out!
VERY GOOD READ!I hope there's another book coming??? Like the Final Battle?
(I've read the Book so I know how it ends, but still would like to read Jenkins'& LaHaye's version of it!LOL!)

I have read all but the two most recent Left Behind books, and read all of those over a three-week period, so obviously I'm a Left Behind fan. I found this book created real images in my mind of what it "might" be like, and I really enjoyed it. If you're a Left Behind fan, you'll love this book. If you haven't read the early ones, though, I'd start with Left Behind, or you might feel left out.

  Good book
Review created: 03/03/07

A good supposition of what the appearance of Christ will be like. It seems to drag a little in places as if the authors, after 12 books, were wearing down. Still, it is a good story.
A lot of buildup involves Rayford, Tsion, and the remaining characters. They wrap up the meeting of him with his first wife (who disappeared in the rapture) with his 2nd wife (who was killed by the anti-christ's forces) quite nicely without a lot of soap opera manuevers.
To understand the background, one has to read the previous 11 books. Still an exciting book with good character follow-through.

Good book- not the best one of the series

If I hadn't read all of the others, I don't know if I would keep reading this one. It is taking forever to get through it. This one I can put down to do other things and I find myself picking up others to read sometimes instead of finishing this one.

It does wrap everything up and the Savior does appear and wipe out all evil and the anti-christ, but it wasn't as good as the others. I don't know if it could have been written better or if it is because they drug it out so long to keep the series going. Maybe they should have stopped the series sooner and not tried to make a whole book about this? I don't know- just know that I am sold on the whole series and this one is o.k.
