Liner Note Author: Steve Barrow.
Jamaica was a hotbed of top-notch producers in the 1970s, and Glen Brown was one of the biggest. RHYTHM MASTER VOLUME TWO brings together some of Brown's hottest sides from between 1972 and 1976, including his own instrumentals ("Wedden Skank"), toasting tracks (I Roy's "Brother Toby Is a Movie from London"), and deep dread grooves (Prince Jazzbo's "Meaning of One"). Like many of the productions of the time, Brown's tracks have a spacious, heady, dub feel, and this compilation, like VOLUME ONE, is an excellent sampler of that style.
