  Good release, worthy buy

Hello All,
Peach's "Giving Birth to a Stone" is a good realease and definetly a worthy buy for any progressive rock listener, especially for fans of Tool and A Perfect Circle. Tool's bassist Justin Chancellor was initially from Peach, actually. To be forthright to the reader, I did buy this because of that fact. Yep. Oh well.

Among the more notable songs is the lead track "Spasm", which has that amazing trademark Justin Chancellor bass riff. It makes me feel good inside...ROCK ON!!!
Also, I found myself particularly intrigued by the second track (Naked) and the fourth track (Velvet). However, the third song on the album is kind of...weird. By the title alone I should have guessed. Yeah, "Catfood" feels a bit like a filler-track, although it has a simple, kick-butt bass riff.

On the plus, though, I quite enjoy Ben Durling's guitar work, which seems strongly influenced by King Crimson's Robert Fripp. I don't really care much for Simon Oakes overly British accent that he sings with. Yes! I know they're British. Anyway, the drumming by Rob Havis is tight and does the job well.

In a nutshell I suspect anyone that knows about Peach loves Tool too and will certainly enjoy "Giving Birth to a Stone". Catfood! Catfood! Catfooood!!! What?!

Solid rock album, a garage like sound w/ a TOOL tinge. One member is from the current TOOL lineup, with the song TOOL covered in thier band.
