Give Up the Ghost [Digipak] * by Brandi Carlile (CD, Oct-2009, Sony)

I had never heard Brandi Carlile sing before this effort. She has a unique voice, with her tone sounding like a female Johnny Cash with a dash of Elvis thrown in for good measure. I think that perhaps the honesty of the album appealed to me the most. There is no overproduction, just good solid music with clearly understood lyrics.

I have listened to all the songs on the new Brandi Carlile CD , Give Up The Ghost, and it was not what I expected. I have never heard her music before, but had in my mind it would be like Michelle Branch. I was pleasantly surprised. Her songs vary, it seems some lean towards folk, some towards country, and some a litte of both.
It is the kind of music I would listen to when I want to have a nice quiet evening at home. maybe dinner alone with the husband, some wine, and just sit back and listen her this CD.
I liked that the music is different from what is usually played by the radio stations over and over.

I bought the cd about a week ago recieved it yesterday and listened to the whole thing. Loved the music and condition of the cd.It was a little shorter in length than i thought it would be but i believe it was definetly worth it Fast shipping great cd/music
