Give Me a Break by John Stossel (2005, Paperback, Reprint)

Great book, but the picture of John Stossel makes this book not worth buying. I think he looks funny, but he is a really good writter. The book I bought had a funny odor on it too. Smelt like cats, lots and lots of cats. I don't like cats. I hope John Stossel smells like this. I love 20:20, its a very informal TV show, but I don't like Barbara Walters, she's really really old. Maybe its Barbara Walters who smells like this? And she passed the smell to John, and John passed it to his books. That has to be it, cause all old people smell funny, and old people like cats, especially grandmas. So I must say that the real reason why this book smells funny is because of Barbara Walters. But I still don't like John Stossel's mustache. So I'd give a -3 to the Author, and a 5 to the Quality of the book. After averaging these two numbers out I reached 1, which is the score I'm giving to this review.

So what I really must ask instead of "Give me a Break," is "Give me a Razor!" Because I'm going to use it to shave off your mustache John Stossel. Plus I don't think Barbara Walters wants a man with facial hair.

This book shows how difficult it can be at times to go against the grain. One example given is the organic food industry which is the trendy love it love it love it of the media at the moment.

One small gripe I have with the philosophy of the book - it seems to promote Libertarianism ... which Stossel is. He does however contrast this political philosophy well with political ideology and is spot on with each analysis.

If you like John's reports on 20/20 ... you will love this book because it will give you more background about WHY he reports as he does - unlike his other books which are mostly collections of his newscast/expose stories.

This book tells the truth about America in so many areas...definitely thought provoking and challenging. A must for every liberal (and conservative)!

Super... as advertised. A great book. I recommend it highly. A well-versed counter to the drive-by media.
