John Stossel is right on the nose when it comes to his views on waste and deception. Whether it be by corporate, union or government waste. I could just hear him speaking as I read the book. Too bad he doesn't run for office. This should be required reading for every incoming politician.

In a very liberal friendly world, John Stossel is refreshingly honest. He talks about 'big' governments, the organic food industry and his fellow members of the media. Very interesting, a real page turner. I want to buy all my family members this book.

John Stossel's Give Me Break Gives A Background
Review created: 07/20/08

This book was really inspiring to me as I write about similar things to John Stossel on my FIXYOURTHINKING.COM website

This book shows how difficult it can be at times to go against the grain. One example given is the organic food industry which is the trendy love it love it love it of the media at the moment.

One small gripe I have with the philosophy of the book - it seems to promote Libertarianism ... which Stossel is. He does however contrast this political philosophy well with political ideology and is spot on with each analysis.

If you like John's reports on 20/20 ... you will love this book because it will give you more background about WHY he reports as he does - unlike his other books which are mostly collections of his newscast/expose stories.

  Stossel supporting the free market
Review created: 03/06/08
by:

Stossel shares how many of his views of business have changed over his years as a consumer reporter and how government regulation that people think is very helpful has just as many pitfalls if not more than the benefits received from the legislation. Stossel usually points out how the legislation effects businesses and how it impedes on the idea of a free market.

Great book, I highly recommend it. Stossel isn't afraid to say something politically incorrect, especially when he has something to back it with or can point out an illogical view.
