Gish by Smashing Pumpkins (CD, Oct-1994, Virgin Records USA)

I had it when i was younger - lost it in transition... Great to listen again, this is a classic CD - pure, raw and solid - conjures all sorts of memories

overall i liked the condition and price of the cd. although the cd case was a little broken it still served its purpose. and when i opened the cd and found a big scratch on the back, i was pleased to hear it did not effect the way the music played. i bought it as a birthday gift for my husband and he was very pleased as well.

I grew up on the Smashing Pumpkins and other bands like this, wayyyyyyyyyy before they were main stream. I actually saw the Pumpkins for the first time, in an old theatre. Love the CD, I'm sure that like others have said the lyrics aren't strong or the music is weak in some places. For me it's about nostalgia.

So I love the CD and everything about it.

This album reminded me of my college days. I haven't heard it in a while. But it is definitely some of the pumpkins best work.

Gish is just a hint of the greatness that was to come. While Corgan's songwriting is still a work in progress here you can certainly hear the potential. Very few bands start out this good. 4 Stars.
