Movie Description
This award-winning WB series is an intelligent, heartfelt drama about a mother and daughter navigating their turbulent world together, as both best friends and family members. Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham, BAD SANTA) is a young, attractive single mom living in idyllic Stars Falls, CT, and her high-school daughter Rory (Alexis Bledel, SIN CITY) is her closest confidant; the two share an independent spirit, a taste for literature, and gorgeous blue eyes. Lorelai had made a break with her conservative, old-money parents, Emily (Kelly Bishop, DIRTY DANCING) and Richard (Edward Herrmann, THE AVIATOR), when at a very young age she decided to keep her baby when she became unexpectedly pregnant. Since then she has been forced to turn to them for financial help with raising Rory, and a tenuous peace has been restored. Mother and daughter are essentially growing up together, supporting each other through relationship difficulties, college worries, and life in general. In the third season Lorelai pursues her dream of opening an inn with her best friend Sookie; Rory has a roller-coaster love life with both Dean and Jess; while Francie continues to butt heads with Rory and her best friend, Paris. Episodes include "Take the Deviled Eggs...," "Face-Off," "Say Goodnight, Gracie," and "Those Are Strings, Pinocchio."

The Gilmore Girls just keep getting better...

Take this review with a grain (scratch that, a tub) of salt. I am so enamored with the Gilmore Girls that it's not possible to write objectively about them. I will probably name a future daughter Loralei or Rory or some variation thereof...but I digress.

Gilmore Girls - The Complete Third Season is as quick and clever as its predecessors. Our friends in Stars Hollow continue to struggle with some of the same issues they encountered in season two (does Rory love Dean? Or is she destined for that perpetual bad-boy Jess?), but they also evolve into more complex characters with new and interesting challenges (should Loralei REALLY date someone that she met at a charity auction organized by Emily and what about Luke in a serious relationship?)

Season 3 is really a segue from the "younger" Loralei and Rory (content within the confines of Stars Hollow and the Independence Inn) to the more "worldly" duo found in seasons 4 and 5. It is during this period that they start to imagine what their lives might look like in the future and begin taking the steps towards achieving their long-lived dreams. Loralei moves forward with her goal of purchasing and running her own Inn (the Dragonfly property might just be on the market...) and Rory contemplates the many choices she will have post-Chilton (Harvard at last?).

The writers of this show continue to stuff each episode chock full of mind-tickling references to literature, music, pop culture, history, and so on. After 2 or 3 viewings of an episode, you'll feel compelled to consult the "Guide to Gilmorisms" included with the set so that you feel a little bit more "in the know" (notice I say "feel" not "are"). Whether you catch all of the witticisms uttered at breakneck speed or not, you simply have to watch Season 3...and there's no time like the present!

Gilmore Girls Complete Third Season 3 Three NEW

More fun, more flames, more flameouts: more Gilmore. This Deluxe 6-Disc Set contains all 22 third-year episodes (plus bonus features) of The Gilmore Girls, the hit series known for its witty, rapid-fire dialogue and poignant, suds-free storylines. For mother and daughter Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, it's a year of change. Much of it is expected, like Rory's graduation from Chilton and the anxiety of waiting for college acceptance letters. But much of it is not. Rory starts the year with two boyfriends (that may be two too many). Lorelai rekindles the flame with Max (maybe). Lane meets Mr. Right (at last). Sookie gets a surprise (a good one). And so does the Independence Inn (not such a good one). The girls are waiting (get watching!).=
