Childhood memories..on Gilligan's Island

I felt like I was just getting out of grade school and watching afternoon TV all over again.
I am not old enough too have viewed Gilligan's Island on it's first run, but boy did I watch it in reruns. This set is great. The first season, being in black & white, was not as highly syndicated as seasons 2 and 3. Many of these episodes I had never seen before and some I had seen in their colorized versions on TBS.
I was glad they chose to release the set in it's original black and white. The overall picture quality is very good for 40 plus year old footage. I was also impressed with the remastered audio. Warner did a good job on the audio and although it is in mono, it sounds excellent.
There are also some great extras on this set.
Sherwood Schwartz, the creator, had a different vision for the series and there is an unaired pilot episode. (Also with a commentary track) Ginger and Mary Ann are not present and there is a different actor as the professor. Some of this footage ends up in the aired episode "Two on a Raft".
This was a great addition to my DVD collection and difinately brought back memories of a simpler time.
