Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Complete Collection (DVD, 2006)

Im a fan of the show so enough said. Animation, music, and storyline is excellent, one of the best animes out there!

story about cyborg cops who use information and technology, as well as force, to investigate a unique social phenomenon. superb animation and artwork. lots of attention to detail. emotions are easy to read. action scenes are entertaining. graphics and special effects are interesting. several characters are very well developed. the plot is complex. but if you don't have much patience for talking heads, some episodes will likely put you off. the cyborg-age jargon is difficult to keep up with at times, even with english dubs turned on. (and i'm a technology student) i've adopted some of the predictions in this sci-fi as belief when i saw it in high school, and really enjoyed actually understanding the rest of it this time.

If you like police investigations like CSI and the Law and Order shows, and believe that great stories can be told in animation, this series is for you.

You can't ignore the visual impact of this series based on the original "Ghost In the Shell" film. But I have to say the story arc and trhe writing in this 26-episode season is even more impressive.

The voice talent is recognizable in the world of anime, and I'll always think of the Major and Bato when I hear the English-speaking actors behind the voices.

If you have never experienced an anime, this is a great place to start.

I bought the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - Complete Collection (2006, DVD) a couple of weeks ago. It came fast and on time. Thanks a lot. It was a great deal.

I purchased this product for a friend's birthday. Delivery was very fast and the product arrived intact and in excellent condition. My friend says he really enjoys the DVD collection. I only wished there was a gift option that could have included a gift note, since my friend didn't know it came from me and had to call to ask.

The image quality is far superior to broadcast. If you know the series you know what to expect. Interesting plot lines complex characters and just a little good ol' fan service. Nothing to complain about with this set, with the slight exception of playability. I've several players in the house and though they are all Dolby capable some only recognize the two-channel output. Not sure but could just be an issue with my player.
This series isn't fully broadcast in the US so this is the only way to see it here. It is worth the bucks.

I thoroughly enjoyed the detailed animation and the complex storyline. One should really own this as the story delevops a complex plot that should be viewed again to savor. I highly recommned this to anyone serious about intelligent action anime.

This is an excellent bootleg version.
It's on 3 discs and is substantially cheaper than the retail set.
The box art is decent but it's not high gloss quality.
The disk graphics are cool also.
However the three disks are piled on top of one another in the case on an plastic felt lined insert tray. That kinda sucks. My girlfriend has a different set, Witch Hunter Robin, and it came in an awesome trifold box and was much better but alas you get what you pay for.
