Excellent anime as you might expect from Ghost in the Shell series. Certainly one of the most well thought out plots since Bladerunner. This anime will take you to some unusual places you might not expect. Recommended for those new to anime ( though it may be more helpful to start with the First Ghost in the Shell movie) and the seasoned anime veteran as well. Excellent anime

This movie was absolutly amazing. The graphics and ausio were way ahead of any other anime movie. Amazing plot. Fopr the people who say it was a terrible plot, the do not understand the concept of GITS. You have to eb a big GITS fan to follow because thats the whole genre for GITS. It Makes you use your head.

I owuld recommend this for anyone who likes using their head. If you actually pay attention it makes perfect sense. There is nothing more to say, amazing graphics, audio, and plot.

The thing is I am a Ghost in the Shell Fan. I liked the first movie and loved the tv series so naturally I was looking forward to this second movie.
The animation in this movie is second to none and i was glad to see the characters again. The plot however is very deep and it is very possible to get lost. What really shot this movie in the foot though is the fact that Dreamworks released it in America with only Japanese dialog and to watch it in English you have to watch it with subtitles that just simply seem to go by too quickly. This is really a shame since the english vioce actors in the tv series are excellent as far as anime goes. They even released it in Europe with the English actors and I cannot help but wonder why did us Americans not get this is well?
Ultimatly, great animation, deep story though easy to get lost and lacks english audio.

I rented this movie a while ago and I'm glad that I rented it and did not buy it. This movie starts off really fast paced and is pretty interesting, but it quickly slows down to just a crawl. It gets to a point where it's confusing, boring, and I just wanted it to end. In fact I had to stop it and take a break, then go back to finish it.
This movie is in Japanese and has english subtitles. I usually do not mind subtitles, but in this case it just slowed the movie down even more.
Batou, who I usually find interesting, couldn't even save this movie. The plot was weak, the movie was confusing, and only thing it had going for it was a little bit of action. This one left me going, " What the heck?!"
Only good thing about this one was this part at the end of the movie. There was some nice action there. Do not worry I'm not going to give the ending away. I would never do that.

The movie is one of the best anime movies ever made in my opinion, it has action, humor, sheer terror, everything to make a movie a classic. The only thing I disliked about it was my copy was Japanese with sub-titles, not that I have anything against sub-titles, but I like the option of switching to English once in a while, but that is a very minor problem easily ignored in the wonder of the movie. I simply had to have the movie because it brought me one step closer to owning the complete Ghost series.

Ghost in the Shell 2 is a little hollow
) The animation has certainly stepped up from the previous movie, which was excellent for its own time. However, beauty can only go so far and while the concept behind GITS2 is interesting and deep, the delivery is somewhat obscure in parts. Numerous and unnecessary proverbs are quoted, leaving some confused. One other scene, which goes through the same sequence 3 times with some things different was also confusing and still doesn't make complete sense upon completion. Another neat scene where a character is attacked is later revealed to not be what it seems, only half-satisfactorily. By all means, watch this title, but be prepared to think about it and come out a little perplexed.

The case came in broken, there were no plastic parts in packaging however. The Anime was as good as i thought, not as good as the first.

Excellent Visuals, Excellent Anime!!I first saw this movie when I had my Netflix subscription and loved it so much now I'm finally going to buy it!!
In my opinion, this is one of the most visually-beautiful animes around (and I'm quite a anime buff)--how the director and animators incorporated the CGI effects along with traditional means of creating animation just makes it that much more awesome!
Of course, I'll be the first to admit--the storyline and deepness of the dialogue is not for the casual fly-by-night, Naruto-type anime viewer; and one truly has to understand the WHOLE concept of the "Ghost in the Shell" series (that includes the mangas, 1st movie, & TV eps) and be willing to have the patience to read (if you see the subbed-only version)/listen (if you happen to get the newer remaster ed. w/ english dubs) to get what's going on. (And if you're like me...you might even have to look at it more than once! LOL)
But overall it's a great piece of anime, like I mentioned some people who see it may dig it and other may not...
But if you're a big GITS fan (like I know I am! LOL), it definitely worth a peak!
