Ghost Rider: an Excellent Film *Contains some Spoilers*

Ghost Rider is another superhero movie based on a marvel comic book which will certainly keep your attention. It’s filled with awe-inspiring action sequences and special effects, which more than make up for the substandard plot. The film was directed by Mark Steven Johnson. Nicholas Cage plays the leading role of Johnny Blaze (Ghost Rider), and Eva Mendes plays his love interest, Roxanne Simpson. The film also stars Peter Fonda as the devil, and Wes Bentley as Blackheart.
The film begins with a young Johnny Blaze who performs motorcycle stunts with his father at a carnival. When he discovers that his father has lung cancer, he makes a deal with the devil, exchanging his soul for his father’s health. However, the devil uses a loop hole in the contract to kill his father anyways. Now Johnny must wait for the day when the devil needs him to become the Ghost Rider.
Several years later, Johnny is still making a living stunt riding, but he has become obsessed with learning more about the devil and the legend of the Ghost Rider. Then, one night the devil seeks him out and tells him that it is time to fulfill the contract. Now, Johnny, in the form of the Ghost Rider, must kill the devil’s son, Blackheart, and, if he succeeds, he will regain his soul.
The special effects in this movie are simply phenomenal. The Ghost Rider and his flaming motorcycle look incredibly realistic, and his digitally created voice matches the character perfectly. Also, the look of not only the Ghost Rider’s powers, but those of Blackheart and his minions (who each represent an element) is very well done. This is especially noticeable in the final face-off between Johnny and Blackheart, in which each of them demonstrates the full extent of their abilities. The entire film is a spectacular display of both visual and audio effects which keep the viewer entertained.
The acting in the film was also well done. Nicholas Cage expertly plays the role of a man who has made a deal and is trying to avoid its consequences. At the end of the movie, when Johnny is speaking to the devil, Peter Fonda plays his role outstandingly and makes sure that the viewer really hates his character.
The special effects in this film are amazing, making it entertaining to watch. I would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the other Marvel comic films.
