ANOTHER Gettysburg Book?
While yet another book on Gettysburg might seem redundent after the excellent studies by Coddington, Pfanz etc, Sears does add new life to the story of the greatest battle ever fought on the North American continent and of the Civil War.
Sears brings great readability. In the vein of the great storytellers like Bruce Catton, Sears spins a great story with what the common soldier felt. On the heels of his amazing Chancellorsville book as well as other battles and leaders books, Sears has proven himself a worthy addition to the shelf og first rate Gettysburg books...not an easy task!
