This is an excellent crochet book and although it is designed for beginners, anyone who crochets would probably enjoy the nice variety of projects included in this book. The author begins with instructions for the novice, and covers the basic supplies of crochet hooks, varieties of yarn and basic stitch techniques. The successful completion of the early projects in the book are intended to help build confidence in your ability to crochet and progress onto more advanced crochet pieces. The book was awesome when it came to giving you step by step directions and the few projects it did have were very easy and they were things that you could use in every day life. The pictures that go along with the instructions were okay but i thought they could have had more detail. Overall, as a beginner when it came to crocheting the book helped me alot but in order to fully understand the concept I ended up having to buy a secong book. After I figured out all of the steps between the two books and went back to this one to reread it seemed very simple. This is the kind of book you need patients to learn with because it takes awhile to catch on to the teaching technique.
