Getting Ready for Marriage Workbook by Jerry Hardin (1992, Paperback)

This book is an excellent way to discuss issues that are vitally important to your marital relationship with your spouse-to-be. I was first made aware of the book when it was given to me by a former supervisor. I am currently a couple of states away from my fiancee because of graduate school, so I bought her a copy of the book so we can work on it together. The chapters provide great insight and ask good, meaningful questions. The surveys and covenants are also an excellent idea. I do not think you'd be disappointed by this purchase.

I wish I had this book before my first marriage! In the whirlwind romantic way we modern girls fall in love, wake up call kinds of questions for both she and he add logic to the decision to pledge your forever to him (or her).

This book is a Must read for anyone serious about preparing for marriage. One of the biggest obstacles to a successful marriage is communications, and this workbook allows the participants to talk things out before the problem exists. I have used this successfully in pre-marriage counseling for almost 10 years, and bought this for my son who is engaged. Would recommend highly.

I first became introduced to this book when my husband and I went to do pre-marital counseling. It is an excellent tool for getting to know each other's likes and dislikes about everything from finances, family, priorities, routines, and religion. I highly recommend this book to any couple who is engaged, thinking about being engaged, or who are newlyweds. It will help keep you from having a lot of misunderstandings later on in your marriage.
