Simple, Fast Recipes for the family or a party

This cookbook is great for more than just get togethers. It is also perfect for weeknight meals--no matter the occasion. Like all of Rachael Ray's cookbooks, you can cook from cover to cover and not be bored. This one is a little different from her other 30 minute cookbooks in that it is arranged by theme. There are menus for all types of gatherings: movie nights, dinner dates, brunches, sports gatherings and 'smallidays.' None of the recipes are complicated, few use expensive or hard-to-find ingredients. My favorite recipe we have tried from this book is the Mussels in Mexican Beer. I'm not really fond of mussels in general, but this is truly excellent! My only complaint is that this book, like all of her other cookbooks, is a bit skimpy on pictures. There is only 1 small section near the beginning with about 8 pages of photos. I guess this helps keep the price down, but I prefer more pictures so I can see what the finished product is supposed to look like. This is a perfect cookbook to have on hand for busy weeknight meals or anytime friends or family drop by.
