This is a pretty darn good film based on the Ellen Raskin book "The Westing Game." What I enjoyed about the DVD was that it followed the plot of the book and the characters with a fair amount of accuracy. To me this was important because I use the book in class (5th/6th grade) and it is an important part of compare and contrast. We read the book, then watch the movie. We then compare the book to the movie and discuss its merits. This is a popular book with my students and the movie holds up to fickle young readers who want "thier" book well represented. Be aware that this is not a high budget movie version of this book...it doesn't require tons of money to accurately portray the story like a Harry Potter book or a Narnia type book. Family friendly, good acting, fun...and probably cheap, used of course. Give your kid a break from sexual innuendo and violence, they need some good, clean fun.
