Job Hunting for Everyone

Most of the job search books out there for young people that I've seen seem to assume that the reader will be going into business or technology. This book is very helpful for everyone. It addresses the real issues that get in the way of a job hunt for college students and post graduates: not knowing what you really want to do, not knowing how the hidden job market works, panic, lack of preparation, etc. It gives good advice to kids still in college (such as to make the people in the career office know who you are; don't get discouraged on the first visit when they just tell you to read some books and visit their web site). It acknowledges that some readers are too shy to do information interviews, which is the point where readers of other career books bog down. Asher is very easy to follow, humorous, and he knows his late teen and twenty something reader. I would advise the reader who doesn't like to fill in questionnaires to keep reading past the initial questionnaires, finish the book, and then return to do them when their value is more obvious. However, readers who haven't thought about what they want or don't want from jobs and life should take a crack at them.
