Germicide..the only germs i'd want to catch

A great recording of early Germs live show..it's punk rock..raw, energy, musical evolution in process. the Germs lead to so much change in the music world it's a shame Bobby/Darby didn't stick around to hear it, but that's not what this review is about. It's interesting to hear "Let's Pretend" in a slower version that's twice as long as the later album version that has the beginnings of the hardcore sound that evolved out of early punk rock. it's funny to hear Belinda Carlisle introduce them, hearing someone screaming "bobby" to get his attention and Bobby telling someone in the audience "f*ck you...come up hear". you can feel that you're on the verge of something big happening and wishing yuo were there...throwing sh*t. no the recording doesn't have the clean maufactured sound of big rock bands, but that's what makes it so great-it's real! as for for my typing..this is a punk rock review, it's not about tradition or perfection..so if you don't like it or this cd-f*ck off.
