WILL THE REAL LINDSAY LOHAN PLEASE STAND UP?

Lindsay Lohan delivers a weak performance as a spoiled, out-of-control teen who is sent to live with her grandmother,(Jane Fonda) for the summer. Someday when Lindsay looks back this performance she will shutter. She seems self indulgent and her acting is lazy.
She basically is playing herself. She seduces a hot mormon boy. She lies cheats and say really mean things. As movies magic works, there is a really easy explanation for all her behavior- she has a dark horrible secret that involves her step-father.
Jane Fonda shines through and although she starred in Monster-N-Law, this movie is her true return to the big screen and brings back sad memories of ON GOLDEN POND.
Felicity Huffman is solid as always and plays the drunk mother quite nicely. When you see the Fonda back on screen and she is now playing the elder, you may wonder where the time has gone.
Lohan can be a great actress but her spoiled star quality gets in the way. We have all heard about the booze, the coke, the upset director and her hopeful co-stars concerns (Huffman & Fonda).
She blew it. But in the end- movie land happiness is restored- the message rings loud and clear- redemption and forgiveness are just around the corner if you just ask for help and seek it out.... we can only hope Lindsay finds some of both while she makes her way through life.
