I have tons of cookbooks, so I was certainly NOT in the market for another. However, I happened to bump into Trisha Yearwood on Rachel Ray and watched her make her German Chocolate cake. It sure looked good! Then I was in the doctor's waiting room and leafing through a magazine and came across an article about Trisha's cookbook and read some of the recipes. My mouth began to water, and I couldn't stop thinking about how delicious the recipes looked. I was hooked. I had to buy it. It is a very enjoyable cookbook. You won't want to be making things from this book every night or you'll never fit through the door, but when you crave some good comfort food this is this place to turn!

  Trisha Yearwood Cookbook!

This is a beautiful book! Not only can Trisha sing, she can cook! Being married to Garth Brooks doesn't hurt either! She shares 120 family recipes and there are 75 color photos of Tricia and Garth at home. The recipes are very down home like her Breakfast Sausage Casserole, Garlic Grits Casserole, Salmon Croquettes with Creamed Peas, Blackberry Cobbler and Lemon Blueberry Bread. The foreword in the book is by her hubby. I love the simplicity of the foods and most are so easy!

I love it. Someone who thinks like me in the kitchen. Not only are the recipes family friendly, the stories and the wonderful memories are just what I am always looking for in cookbooks. I want to know where the idea or the recipes come from and this cookbook is my idea of perfect. The photography is beautiful and it will make a wonderful gift. I am collecting stories and recipes for a wedding gift next June and Trisha has given me some great ideas. I am a pretty good cook but have never been able to master spare ribs. I have to say it was easy and they turned out fabulous. You won't be disappointed with any part of the book. I suggest you buy two. One for you, and one for a gift.

I love to cook, and I have a huge amount of cookbooks. This one is by far one of my all time favorites. Of course being from Oklahoma, that helped in the reason for even purchasing it, but all of the recipes are what I was brought up on. Alot of them are even my family recipes. But I was truly impressed with this book and I have fixed alot of the recipes and will continue to. Give it a try, you won't be disapointed!!!Please write another one, Trisha!

For fans of Garth and Trisha, there are some interesting tidbits to read. If you cook very much at all, you'll find the recipes are pretty standard. I am giving it to a young friend of mine that can cook chicken fingers and fries. I think it will be a good starting place for her efforts. I should have waited until I could check it out from the library.

heard about it on tv. tricia said it had easy and harder recipes. I like southern cooking and easy recipies. This cook book didn't assume you already knew about cooking. Already tried 3 recipes and loved the outcomes.

If you like down home cookin, that's what this cook book is all about. Many of the recipes are just common cooking but I loved that she shared her version of them. Very enjoyable just to sit down and read also. Yes, I recommend it!

  Georgia Cooking at it's Best
Review created: 11/13/09

I've been cooking since I was 12 years old and thats been 50 years now. I love to cook and this book was a true delight. I've already tried 6 of the recipes. Wonderful results from all. The Black Eye Pea Dip is my favorite so far. The Beef and Potato Cassarole was a success at one of my church suppers. I loved reading the short stories about Trisha's family. I just enjoyed this book cover to cover.

Fun recipes and lots of new ideas. I can't wait to try the Roast Turkey Recipe, it's a new one on me. Trisha says it comes out perfect every time.

I bought this because I read an article about this book and it was spoken about highly.

I just received this book today but I can tell it's going to be one I use a lot and keep forever! The recipes bring back memories of my mother's cooking and I enjoy reading the remarks with the recipes. If only I had known when I was younger what I know now, I might have taken the time to write Mom's recipes down...now it's too late and many are gone forever. I would like to tell Trisha and her family that they did a great job!

This is one of the few cookbooks I can honestly say I will make more than half of the recipes out of. Trisha Yearwood and her family really broke out of the mold and gave us insight into their worlds and shared real heartfelt thoughts and memories to go along with wonderful recipes. Between my sister, who is my lifelong best friend, and myself I believe this cookbook will be thoroughly used time and time again! Well worth the money and time. Just awesome!!

GA Cooking in an Oklahoma Kitchen, thats a good title.
Review created: 02/02/09

Well I am a big fan of Trisha Yearwood, who is from GA and so am I. I thought I would like this cookbook. I thought the recipes would be good. But lets just say the recipes that I have tried, I have better recipes. I don't think I would really recommend this book to anyone. If you are a person who is just learning to cook, you wouldn't want to use this cookbook, it would make you disappointed in your cooking.

I love this cookbook. It's not for those whom are on a diet. This cookbook contains the best that southern country cooking has to offer. I love how Trisha gives her own insights and involves her family through the culinary process of taste-bud wonderment that this book has to offer!

  Great title.
Review created: 01/08/09(updated 05/11/09)

I bought this for my Mama for Christmas. She has really enjoyed reading it and has even tried a recipe or two. All the recipes that she has read either are similar to her own or are down to earth, everyday cooking. Things normal people fix and eat.

A great addition to a kitchen!
Review created: 10/06/08

I just received this recently, so I've only had the chance to try one recipe in here; the Sausage Breakfast Casserole, and it is not only inexpensive to make~which is most important during this economic crisis we're facing, but it also serves a lot~also vitally important. You get a lot for your buck with this recipe and this book, which I highly recommend. I gave away the Joy of Cooking; Rachel Ray; and other cook books I've either received as gifts, or purchased, myself, over the years. This is one I will keep and pass down to my grandchildren, and hopefully, you will too! Happy cooking!
