It's a BLAST!

For old school gamers, imagine Asteroids meets Robotron 2084 (or Smash TV) and that's what you'll find in Geometry Wars!
OVERVIEW:
Covered in a retro 80's like playing field, this shoot 'em up wonder is simple, yet suprisingly challenging! It's the classic story of one very millions. Similar an 80's arcade shooting style counterpart, just one mission - POINTS! Climb aboard your polygon-like starship and shoot, shoot, SHOOT!
Sounds boring, right? Not so fast... Unlike some of it's 80's counterparts like Asteroids, this 21st century spin-off is faster, more colorful, and much more challenging. Test your skills against several dozen different worlds, that bring something new to the playing field.
POSITIVES:
+ Simple, yet dazzling graphics (almost hypnotic)
+ Lots to unlock, hence, many hours of playtime (over 60 worlds!)
+ Easy to learn, a challenge to master
+ Medals given on each stage based on score (LOTS of replay value)
+ 2 players can battle wits or play side by side
NEGATIVES:
- Constantly thinking/moving around (not for those who want a laid-back game)
- Gamecube remote doesn't work, need 2 nunchucks for 2 players
- Need a Nintendo DS to unlock the last 7 worlds...sigh...
OVERALL:
A new take on an old-style shooting platform -- simple, yet addictive.
This is one of those games that you pick up, read the back, scoff, and ask, "Am I really going to get my $40 worth out of THIS?" The answer, in most cases, will be 'YES'.
