i bought the book just because it was mandatory for school but i ended up loving it. this is a great book for any one interested in world events, and most importantly why and how things develop. eventhough there is a new edition available, this edition is for the most part still current, and it makes it a more economic alternative. definetely recommend the book to any geography major or any one just interested in it.

I purchased this book to use in my Geography class in college. Most students bought the $145 new edition, but the teacher gave someone permission to use this one and I decided to do the same. It's basically the same- same maps, same terms, same chapters, with updated figures on population I would assume being the main difference. I'll just keep the other $130 thanks. :)

This book has saved my life, I thought going into geography it was going to be a total breeze. "Name this country, name that country, how hard could it be?" I thought. Well it turned out to be a pretty demanding course which I guess is okay considering the entire world and all its environmental and cultural wonders are taken into account.

Bought this book and returned it. Selller has not returned my money and gave me a bad time with very snotty attitude about returning the book. Acts as though he is better than everyone else. Still no refund not the book so he has kept my money and the book.
