Gauntlet: Dark Legacy (PlayStation 2, 2001)

One of my favorite games. Hours and hours of super multi-player action. Re-do levels with your fully upgraded characters for maximum destruction and hidden secrets...oh yeah and there's about 30 characters to choose from once you unlock them!

This game is my all time favorite on playstation. I am an older guy and have found myself spending hours playing this game by myself and also with friends. Even if you get all the way through which will take some time, it is always fun to go back and do it again. A memory card is a must though as you will want to save your checkpoints. Each realm is different and gives new challenges and twists. If you haven't played this one I would highly recommend it. I have played a lot of PS2 games ranging from God of War to Hot Shots Golf believe me a wide range and again this is my all time favorite. You won't be dissapointed either if you are 16 or 50-no matter!

Gauntlet: Dark Legacy is still a fun game to play with friends. Multi person game play has always been a strength of the Gauntlet Series and is encredibly fun teaming up with friends to conquer the various levels and finding potions and treasures. The fun of playing with friends keeps you from noticing all the flaws. So, if you have friends that enjoy this type of game, I would highly recomend it to you.

If you are getting this game for nostalgia or as a way to pass some gameplaying time of your own.........Don't waste your money!

This game has not changed much since I remember playing it in the arcade of my local pizzeria as a teen. I wasn't impressed with the graphics at all, I really expected something more from the famous Gauntlet Series. In fact the graphics on this Game have barely advanced since the 1980's. I was also annoyed with the awkward angular controls of the game and the repetitive simplicity of the attack play.

Characters and Levels are mediocre at best. It feels that a lot of the graphics and enemies are just "cut and paste" from level to level. It feels like they just changed to color and layout of the levels, the quantity and speed of enemies, and moved around the treasures.

* Nostalgia couldn't save it!

All of us can play at the same time, this has turned out to be one of the bestb games I have gotten, if you like X-Men, you will love this one.

My hubby loves this series, we have like 5 or 6 of them for different game formats. Great entertainment when you have time to kill.

I bought this as a gift for someone. It is difficult to find locally. I have played this game with family and it is a lot of fun.

This was a good hack and kill game for up to 4 players. I had originally bought the game because i have played a couple of the other "Gauntlet" series games, and this one didn't look too bad. It's really fun to play when you have a bunch of other ppl to play with, but can be very difficult and boring when you are by yourself. One of the best parts of the game, in my opinion, is the coin mazes. If your successfully compete these mazes, you unlock bonus characters, one for each category of fighter. The one thing that I didn't really like about this game is that ir can get kinda long, as a few levels you can get easily lost in, and the game's ending has something to be desired. But as with the other Gauntlet games, the ending should be expected.

This game ROCKS!!! Everyone will like it, kids, adults, everyone. It is VERY repetitive, and a little mundane, but still FUN!!! So ignore the bad reviews, and when you are bored and want a button masher to numb your brain, play this game!!!

This was a all time favorite for me.So i had no choice but to bid on it.we used to play this game at the arcades when we were little kid's growing up in the hood.

It is a really fun game and I like that you can play with 4 players. It is a fun adventure game, not like other games where you just run around killing monsters.

I like the game and it is high quality. I had to e-mail the owner to remind her to send it to me though that's why it was only good instead of excellent.

best game i ever played.hours of entertainment.the game teaches you to be a better player and want to do it better.it gives you many options to take different paths,you do not feel rushed to run to the end.the graphics were super,cartoonistic and imaginative.really keeps you on your toes,lots of memory involved.sound effects were illustrious and keep you informed on things you are approaching.like treasures or bad guys.it sure is better than seven sorrows thats for sure.it is definately a keeper on my shelf of fabvorites.

I hunted everywhere for this game. It was a gift for my son and grandson. Thank goodness for ebay. It really is great to have somewhere you can find what you are looking for.

If you remember the original game where you killed everthing that moves besides your allies, its exaclty the same but with better graphics and no new ideas. If you want to spend money like there is no tomorrow , this is the game you should buy. If you want something more, move elsewhere. There are other titles that have something better to offer.

The positive thing is that if you have 4 player capability this game supports it.

The game is great and fun, but don't expect too much from the the graphics...they are just ok. Th story line is not too intense so it would be good for a younger audience, and the "violence" of the game seems simply non-existant. It is a great modern interpretation of a classic arcade game!!

We purchased this game on ebay because we lost the original one while we were on vacation. The original game was purchased because my husband and I liked to play together. Now we have two boys who like to play, and this is a basic hack and slash game. It has hidden areas that are unlocked with switches and triggers. You collect crystals along the way to open new areas. The areas can be played repeatedly. You collect rune stones and the un;ock special levels. The game also includes mini games. Each player's progress or profile can be saved seperately and you can play alone or with up to three others. Its a classic game, basic but fun.

Luv the game!!! This is my all time favorite RPG Thanks. We had this game for our game cube and we loved it and are enjoying starting all over again on our playstation 2.

If you have some friends, a PS2, and a multitap, buy this game. It's endless hours of hack-and-slash fun.

This is a fun game and its not extremely hard. The only downside i see to it is its a little hard to aim but you get used to it pretty quick.

The best Gauntlet Legends game for ps2 by far. With far more characters to choose from and way more items and weapons than Seven Sorrows this is the one you want. Dark Legacy has over 60 levels and super sweet ancient weapons to be found. Dark legacy may be the best one of the entire Gauntlet series.

Yes this game was made in 1999, but dont be decieved, the game is awsome, going threw countless levels and watching your character get stronger and stronger is always fun.

The part that makes me LOVE this game is the multiplayer system, my friends and i could go st this game for hours at a time.

I really recommend buying the game to try it.

PS: when you do try it, try it with your buddies, its really a game were you need to co-operate with them
