I watched The Gate way back in the VHS days as a kid.It had been quite a long time since and I decided to see if it was out on DVD format to add to my collection. Seems like this little treasure is semi-difficult to find now and when I won the auction on it I was not a bit disappointed.Even after all of these years later I think the movie holds up well,and the special effects are still impressive to me considering the technology then & now in movies.The acting is very good as well in my opinion and the story itself will keep you on the edge of your seat,especially the "fake" ending. Just when you think the movie is over something happens that you won't expect if it's the first time watching the movie.So as a big horror movie fan,I'd have to give this one a 5/5.

this is a great cheesy 80s horror flick. Pure cheese but oh so fun to watch. the special effects are terrible the acting isn't that hot, but it's got a young Stephen Dorff and the creepiest little troll monsters ever. I'd buy it again.

This movie was pretty good overall. I liked the special effects they used in the movie. I bought it because of the price.

I decided to buy these items because I had this movie stuck in my mind for months abd when I finally saw it on tv I decided I had to buy it. They were good movies and the seller is awesome!

this movie was one of the best horror movies I saw while growing up, now that I own it I can revisit all the funny things from: mini demons, dead workers, and rocket launchers. Also that little boy grew up to play the main baddie in "blade".

I really enjoy this movie and to see Stephen Dorff acting at such a young age is awesome. You can catch some of his facial features for sure. This is just a fun romp through the '80's.

this is one of those old school b movie type horror - sci fi flicks. its a great sunday afternoon movie with cutting edge special effects for its time.lol. staring stephen dorf as a young buck actor among others. anyway its a great flick to see and a better one to own if you can find it.
I give it 3 out of 4 stars.

Well i bought this dvd because i remembered how much i liked the movie as a kid. One night i was talking about 80's movies with some friends and decided i wanted to see this and some others again. So I jumped on ebay and found it for a great price and purchased it. When it arrived i called up those friends and we had a movie night with some sweet 80's movies we all liked.

Well i would've given this movie a rating of excellent. However, the movie was not released in wide screen format, and it was in used condition. But, i remember always loving this movie as a kid, and wanted it cuz it couldn't find it anywhere else.

Though this movie was made in the 80's, the graphics still withstand the passing of time. I bought this movie because as a child, my parents let me watch it and I thought it was the scariest movie EVEr and it soon became one of those many movies that we watched alot and quoted from frequently. Having watched it recently as an adult, I realized it was not quite as scary as I had thought before, but I was still able to revel in the memories it conjurred in me. It has a pretty interesting story, lots of "I can't believe that happened!!!" moments, and some creative creatures. The acting is pretty good too. Definately one of the classic horror movies that everyone should see!

this was for a dvd, when it arrived, it was a vhs. the price was good but what am i supposed to do with a vhs copy without a vcr??? question this seller before buying.

I have seen this movie along time ago, and I really liked it enough to have it in my library. Unfortunately I never received this dvd in the mail, and the check was cashed at my bank by Lionsgate. When this movie finally comes to my home, I can review it move effectively.

I love this movie. I used to watch it when i was a little kid, and i looked for it for a long time and couldnt find it anywhere. I found it on ebay though and ive watched about 6 times since then.
