Garmin Nuvi 755T

Garmin Nuvi 755T does NOT have bluetooth despite what I kept reading in Specs from various different websites...should have gone straight to Garmin for Specs.
Cons...
- Pronounciation of street names is less than stellar. Can't pronounce words like: Route, Illinois, and Rickert. Can't pronounce Czerkies either (sounds like "turkies"...amusing, but wrong). However, I can understand that one.
- Lane Assist doesn't always provide enough time to get into that lane. Lane Assist seems to only be available on major roadways.
- Directions can be a bit confusing until you get used to it. For example, I was traveling south on I-55, at the junction with I-294, it told me to "turn left" onto I-55 South. I was already on I-55 and there is no left turn. A reasonable person can figure out that you are not actually leaving the interstate or turning, but it is a bit confusing at first.
- Wish I could create a map (on MapQuest or Google Maps) with waypoints and download it to memory card for use. Customizing routes can be time consuming.
Pros...
- Basic functions are clear and intuitive.
- I mounted it to my motorcycle and used an earpiece under my helmet. Worked great! Heard everything crystal clear without any issues.
- Car windshield mounting is easy and works well.
- Shows current speed and current speed limit when available (most roads) even when there aren't any actual speed limit signs. Answered an ongoing family argument as to the speed limit of a specific section of road near our house. For the record, I was right...she was wrong!
- Calculates and displays estimated arrival time (good accuracy).
- When you miss a turn or decide to not follow the route calculated, it quickly recaculates a new route on the fly.
- Re-routing around construction or delays works pretty well.
- Easy to see display
If I was to buy another, I would make sure it has Bluetooth capabilities...So I can make/recieve calls while on my motorcycle.
I checked out other GPS manufacturers at retail stores and from family and friends who already own a GPS. It seems that Garmin sets the industry standard that everyone else tries to match. I would recommend a Garmin over others.
If you are looking for a good GPS with better than average functionality, this is a good choice (unless you need Bluetooth).
