Garmin nuvi 650 Car GPS Receiver

This is my second purchase of the Garmin 650. We wanted another in our second vehicle. I would highly recommend purchasing it if you can still get this model. It is no longer being made there are reconditioned ones readily available.

Pros: easy to use, fast loading, routing is accurate, numerous POI's (useful to get phone numbers on the road), tells you what road you are on and what road is coming up (very helpful if you are lost), take it on trips and enter your hotel address into favorites and you can forget about getting lost -- no map reading, --whenever you are ready to go back to the hotel go to favorites and get step by step instructions!

Cons: doesn't allow entering of multiple routing addresses for my weekly garage sale routing -- but that is a really minor issue

I have had other vehicle installed GPS units. The first GPS unit came in the vehicle we purchased and I looked at it as something "fun" to have. GPS units are more than fun to me now -- they are very useful and now required. I purchased our first Garmin 650 for our second car and so we had access in that vehicle and we could take it on vacation when we had a rental vehicle. Wow what a difference the Garmin 650 is from the vehicle GPS! The Garmin 650 is more accurate and easier to use than any of the vehicle units I have/had. The wide screen makes if very easy to see as you are driving and navigating.

I liked the Garmin 650 GS so much that we purchased the second unit for a vehicle that already has GPS installed because the Garmin 650 is far superior to the vehicle unit! I highly recommend that you buy this model, you won't be disappointed!

Great GPS used it and gave to the buyer. This unit picked addresses at 50 mph and never did miss one even during recalculation periods

Easy to use (user friendly) very helpful and extremely accurate. I travel a lot on highways and farm roads other than freeways and this little device will get you there safely and in one piece. The different options available on it as far as traveling for time or distance, comes in very handy.

I love the Garmin 650. It is very easy to use, and the voice commands are loud enough that I can hear them over my 2 year old. We are going to purchase another one.

The Garmin Nuvi 650 GPS is very user friendly and is a very good GPS. Very easy to load addresses and a lot of neat options. I liked it so much I purchased four of them. You can't go wrong buying one.

This GPS is very easy to use,very sleek, very good maps and street names are correct from what i've found. Even in small town america.

GREAT BUY

I have had 2 Nuvi 650's stolen out of my vehicles, so they must be popular! They are the nicest GPS models I have used..I tried several other brands and models, Garmin has the nicest operating system hands down.

We've had our GPS for about a month and we love it! It was ready to go right out of the box although we did get a free upgrade to 2009 maps so we downloaded those. We recently got back from vacation and it was wonderful. It was totally accurate the entire time, not a single misdirection. In fact it said we would arrive home at 6:34 and we pulled in our driveway at exactly 6:34. The screen size is what first drew us to this model as well as the price. You'll want to pick a GPS that speaks the street names. This was especially helpful. The prompts are well enough in advance to give you time to change lanes if necessary. The screen is bright enough to be seen in bright sunlight, no shadows, no glare. Also, the driver as well as the passenger have perfect view of the screen. The touch screen is very easy to use, just sensitive enough. We did a lot of research before we made our purchase and the Garmin was highly rated. We are not dissappointed. Very easy to use, very accurate, easy to navigate through the screens of instructions....If you take a wrong turn it recalculates quickly and you are back on track. I highly recommened the Garmin.

It is a great locator for destinations. I use it for resturant locations. I always use it to get home. My husband needed it because he is always getting lost. I have to leave early just to add in lost time. Can you believe he doesn't use it, I do. He is a man and insists he knows where he is going, but he uses it when we are together. I love the recalculating feature. I often give rides to people who live in out of the way areas and it was difficult to find my way out, not anymore. Yeah, Garmin. I just have good things to say about the Garmin. I haven't seen a problem yet.

Pro: Over the past several years I have purchased 3 Refurbished Garmin's and have not been disappointed yet. The 650 being refurbished was no exception and was a significant dollar savings. This is an outstanding value for what I consider to be a mid level unit, It gets me where I need to go every time and a detour is only a push of a button it is accurate, sounds good and looks great the 4.3 screen is terrific.

Con: Volume could be somewhat louder and I do wish it had the route storage ability, but those are fairly minor for me.

Great product. works well so far...only had it a couple of days. it does keep saying my house on the wrong side of the street which seems to be the only problem so far...Recommended to friends.

I bid this item and won it. I received it about 2 weeks later. The package was not wrapped properly, parts were missing and the GARMIN DOES NOT WORK. I tried contacting the seller via email and still waiting on a reply. I feel as if I got STIFFED out of $91 dollars. This is what makes people skeptical about buying on ebay. He should be banned from selling on ebay. It is not fair for the other sellers who are honest and market good merchandise.

I had already bought one for myself...wonderful instrument!!! I must say. I got tired of my grandson borrowing it so I purchased another one. Great things to have at all times....especially for men who seem to not be able to ask for directions.

I like it alot and it has served me well. It does all that I need it to do. I wouldn't be without it now. Use it all the time to find what I don't know where it is. Great purchase.

This is a great GPS for people like me who's in the transportation business. It work great even in San Francisco with all the tall buildings around. The only thing lacking is the option to avoid certain streets or highways not like the Tomtom. Overall is a good gadget to have.
