Garmin eTrex Legend Cx Handheld GPS Receiver

I like the e-Trex for several reasons, one of the most significant reasons is the ease in down loading map software. I like the way it is set up so you can load only the section of map you will need. It can be a little or a lot, depending on the size data card you use. That is another reason for selecting the e-Trex, the ability to use a removable data card to expand memory. I can download city maps on one card, lake charts on another or topo maps on still another. I like the small size, the user friendly interface and the rugged construction. I looked at other brands and do have two Magellans, but the ability to load maps easily was a determining factor for the e-Trex. Garmin seems to have some better customer support although I have needed very little support. The bang for the buck was hands down in favor of the e-Trex. There are other fearures like electronic compass that higher up models have but were not necessary to me. The Legend Cx (C= color) (X= removable data card) (S= sensors for electronic compass and altimiter) is my favorite. What the letters stand for is hard to find in all the product descriptions. I used a lot of research to find out by the method of deduction. Why they don't just explain it I don't know. It depends on what features you want as to what model to choose but the Legend of any model is a great choice and I highly recommend it.
